Championship 2023/24

I think I grew up just a little late to have this intense hatred for Leeds that most on here do.

I've only never known them as a small local club dwindling in lower leagues (bar one or two years of Smith/Kewell/Viduka when I was 7/8) so I've never viewed them as proper rivals.

For that reason, I'd like them up to give a bit of spice to 2 PL games next season! Both fans are always right up for it so makes for great atmosphere.

I remember a game back in early1992 I was at. We were competing with Leeds for the old division 1 title.

We played Sheffield Wednesday at home and Leeds were at Oldham. We were held 1-1 but when the scores from the Leeds game filtered through the stsdium was bouncing. They lost 2-0.

Sadly they won the league that year, we lost to Liverpool on the 2nd to last weekend to give them the title.

This game could turn out like ours. Outsider winning. Feel like Leeds will dominate the 2nd half so Southampton need another goal

My dislike for Leeds has been on a back burner for years now... bigger fish to hate! Also we were pretty much guaranteed six points!

See that's the kind of thing that makes me understand the feelings towards them but I just never experienced the direct rivalry so the inherent fire isn't there!

It's why I detest Arsenal (due to the mid 00s) so much I think despite them being quite average until very recently

Good result for us so far. We basically need Leeds to lose so we can keep Harrison on loan next year.

Still want them to win - can't stand to see Leeds in the P.L

Yeap. And apparently Leeds need to raise around £100m in player sales if they don’t get promoted. Same for So’tok probably, but it’d be nice to see Leeds struggle. It always is.

Gotta say Leeds kits are always great looking

Feel like possession based football has led to an incredible lack of urgency when teams are a goal down.

I think Southampton just have the measure of them. Leeds are usually a bit more gung ho.

Been impressed by Southampton today - they haven't played that well but have looked rock solid and really composed
