Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

One goal for Roma changes everything.

But most likely, it'll be a 3-0 or 4-0, and even the miraculous comeback v Barcelona won't be enough.

If only Messi and his boys hadn't colossally bottled that game, Liverpool would have had a much tougher game against them.

That's fate though. It reminds me of the year we all laughed at Chelsea losing to Barcelona late on after a controversial game. Then we weren't laughing in the final when we were taken apart, when we'd have probably beaten Chelsea.

These are bullshit tactics from Roma. Fecking pathetic. Passing the ball around at the back - it's like taking candy from a baby.

Barca foolishly parked the bus and didn't even try for an away goal. If they played that match the way they played those last ten minute it would be a different story, but a very very poor showing.

True that. I made my post more in exasperation and not as an actual question. I was watching that game and you could tell early on in the match that Barca had not approached it with the right attitude. It was reminiscent of the way the great AC Milan lost to La Coruna back in 2004. But that La Coruna had some quality in them. Regardless of what happens in the second half, this Roma side has to be the worst team to have ever reached the CL semis. Can't think of another.

Bayern or Real can have Young loaned for a game if they want to know a way to stop Salah :D :D

I like Nainggolan, he's got some silky touches for a self-styled hard man. But for a self-styled hard man, he's a bit lightweight. Tries to always shield the ball too, even against physically stronger players.

Dosen't matter if they get Madrid or Bayern on their day that attack can destroy any defence.
How tf did Mourinho sell Salah?
Unbelivable

Schalke in 2011. Lyon in 2010.

2-0.

This is ending 4-0 and a complete write off second game.

No chance Roma are scoring, and despite their ridiculous Barcelona comeback they're not coming back second leg.

Knocking it to Dzeko stiltlegs isn't happening.
Roma didn't look this bad even in the 3-0 loss in Barca. If they somehow manage a 2-1 finish to this game I'm sure they'd consider that a victory. But you're right, it is much more likely this games ends 4-0.

Naingollan is the only Roma player pulling his weight. Everyone else is nonexistent.

Who the feck is this Juan Jesus cnut? Quite a bit of an achievement to be worse than Fazio.

Was over 10 years ago when that utter dross Liverpool team fluked their way to win it. At least this one has a genuinely brilliant attack.

This season is like 2005 all over again.

I'm not comparing Liverpool teams; i'm talking about the general quality in football. But if you want to go that route; i can safely say that 2005 Liverpool team was up against much much better opponents and probably better than this Liverpool team. This game so far was like a poor UEFA Europa League game not a Champions League semi-final.

Well, it hasn’t - the level is higher than ever. And Liverpool have been amazing because of the room available to them. Roma have been atrocious, that’s the only thing you can really say about this game. And... Salah’s goal was world-class, sadly.

Are you serious? I'm sorry but that's BS. The only thing higher is the money in football as opposed to the constantly-decreasing quality. Do you really believe that quality in football (players, managers, tactics etc.) is higher than say 20 years?

Remember Schalke who we beat?

I think Roma have a sign on Bonus on Salah, Trying their hardest to make them win

Playing a deep line and not pressing in Liverpool's half? That's really close to parking the bus.

We were able to counter Liverpool without parking the bus because our team is setup to do so. We play the same way against other sides too. We don't go 180 and become prime Barcelona against Crystal Palace.
We should have been 3 up at halftime with controlled possession. Spurs did it for 90 mins at Anfield because they needed a goal.
The blueprint is there without a bus in sight. There wasn't any specialist, iron will gameplan that only we could follow?
If anything that was both sides at their peak, we wish we played that way every week

Liverpool's style of play seems to absolutely bewitch sides in Europe, they absolutely storm them.
You'd think there must be plenty of sides they'd face that have pacy breaks, and pressurise you intensely, but it's like Liverpool's tactics are from a future and unseen place.

How did this Roma beat Barca? It should have been Barca hammering Pool right now.
They didn't. They lost 4-1 at the camp nou with barcelona doing next to nothing all game
