I really don't get why Favre picked such a passive approach. Dortmund is not a team that will just deny them for 90 minutes. The only thing he achieved was running down the clock until PSG scored their inevitable goal. Effectively starting the match for his team 1-0 down and with 60 minutes to go.

That's what I meant. The problem is now they are so bad offensively that they can't discourage teams from just going at them gung ho. They used to have enough about them to make teams weary. Kind of like how Barca had a bad defense but everyone was scared to attack them because they'd be destroyed (or else couldn't get the ball off them). Honestly, it's nothing to do with it being Liverpool who are the best now but the standard of teams across the board of the usual top clubs has really regressed these past years. Apart from City who have beaten Liverpool in the league the last 2 years.
