Champions League Round of 16 (18th Feb - 8th Aug)

Var is even slower in Europe. 3 mins to give an easy decision.

There is at least 6 minutes added on time to be here.

Koulibaly has been terrible tonight. Looks far more comfortable trying to make forward runs than defending against them.
Just came here to write the same thing! Certainly not worth the fee being mentioned, as such high fee’s have to deliver on the big stage

Makes Maguire and Lindelöf look very good.

Ref didn't have a choice. It's unlucky and not deliberate by the defender but you simply have to give this one.

The gap from VVD to the rest is enormous

I was thinking something similar to this. Defending is a bit of an art in many respects and it appears that a lot of the focus these days is on defenders being able to play out from the back or do certain things with the ball, whereas perhaps they're neglecting those basic, core fundamentals of defending. Positioning, heading, using your body strength, showing players onto the weaker foot/the outside, calmness under pressure, etc.

I think it is very clear that the top 5 in Europe (City, Pool, RM, Barca, Bayern) has formed a gap to the rest.

PSG is probably the best of the rest but very little to differentiate the rest imo (Juventus, Atletico, United, Chelsea, BvB are all very similar level teams and form is the main differentiator).

Wasn’t a great pen to be fair. Keeper guesses right and it’s easily saved.

The whole VAR process took twice as long to confirm the most obvious penalty in human history than it did to rule out a goal because a ball might have glanced a couple of molecules on an arm by accident, maybe, if you see it from one angle after 25 replays.
