Champions League Round of 16 (16th Feb - 17th Mar)

Is Messi past it? I dont watch Barca every week.. he clearly has the quality to finish.. but he has failed to control the game in any form.. at any point.

He's not at his best anymore but he's still quite easily Barca's best player. Been quality in 2021.

40 goal involvements in 41 games for Mbappe since his Champions League debut. Incredible.

he did technically knock us out but we'd sealed our own fate in our performances before that game
No we didn't seal shit. No matter what happened in the previous two games, we should have been able to get a point in Leipzig.

He's past his prime but he's still fantastic, if last summer is anything to go by he doesn't really want to be there and it shows.

Is this Barcelona‘s biggest home defeat in Europe since Rebrov and Shevchenko destroyed them in 97?

Sure, we should've also beat PSG, we should've also beat Istanbul. Everything matters. Like I said, I find it a lazy argument.

Take a good look at Messi in a Barcelona shirt while you. Pray to the gods he goes to PSG and not City. He's past peak, but his peak was so high he's still in the top 2-3 footballers on the planet.

Barca should voluntarily leave champions league for few years, they are going to ruin their legacy...

But saying he's what knocked us out is a really lazy way to give him praise and lacks context in the build up to that game. Losing against Istanbul and especially the game against PSG at home where we missed 2 open nets were the biggest contributors to that, the game against Liepzig should've been a formality, he did technically knock us out but we'd sealed our own fate in our performances before that game.

We still would have went through if we had drawn this game. Not really, it's not lazy.

Didn't Bayern twat them at home some years ago(not talking about last year).

Huge chance for Leipzig. Third one already. Pool have actually not been very good at all

He’ll still get plenty of G/A contributions throughout the season, but he’s been far from the absolute one man force in the CL he once was for a few years now.

Forget Ronaldo, even Mbappe is better than Messi at this moment, and I’ve said so long before this game. The boy is genuinely world class. Imagine the carnage he’ll wreak in Paris when Barca have to attack relentlessly (or just give up when the going gets tough as usual).

Yeah he's special no doubt. He's got brazillian ronaldo 9 vibes about him. Pace, power and skill.

Imagine if we add Pogba to this midfield, also Sancho (in place of Kean) in the summer. Rashford would not be a bad option as well. Poch is building something special here. Lovely to see him giving Verratti some advice too. This might be our year

Liverpool produced nothing. 2 stupid defensive errors gifted then the match aside from Leipzig missing a sitter in the last minute of the match.

Don’t know much about these guys Puig, Mingeza, Trincao and Pedri, any of them considered big talents?

This. Leipzig actually had the better chances. They lack some proper quality in that side though

Pedri looks a big talent, yeah. He's like 17

Trincao and Puig are talents, Migueza is crap right now

Changing of the guard tonight that was...

Great to see such a talent in Mbappe coming through to hopefully rival Messi and Ronaldo's numbers in years to come
