Champions League Round of 16 (13th Feb - 14th Mar)

As it should, never understood the hate defending as part of game gets, like its cancer of football. Always found it weird when people see good/great defending as easy, hell proper working bus parking isnt easy.

Parking the bus in not great defending.

Finding my self rooting for Spurs. Don’t want them to win but I’ll enjoy another 30 of this.

City are losing 1-2 without de bruyne. They're playing almost full strength (Jesus for Aguero).
Basel have been good. Really high pressing. I've been impressed, won't be enough though but fair play to them

Memes write themselves

It's quite incredible when you think about it, to do what they're doing on their budget. They should be everyone's 2nd team yet most opposition fans revel in their misery. Mainly due to their obnoxious fanbase.

Nah they're not Leicester ffs. Spurs are a big team who every now and then have a player who pushes them to further e.g Bale or Kane.

Playing an almost full strength lineup is not the same as playing full strength though. I'm not watching the game, but I'd imagine that City isn't putting in a 100% effort.

How on earth are spurs on the verge of going out, they’ve been by far the best team in both legs.

If they hold out they win. Great defensive unit, so possible. If they concede they might like their chances in extra time or penalties. I think it makes sense.
It might work out yes but I still don't get it. You definitely need luck as well, Tottenham has had some excellent chances in the last few minutes and are dangerous in almost every attack. You are gifting the control of the game away to your opponent, basically saying "come at us" instead of dominating yourself - if you keep possession for two minutes, it's two minutes they can't score in. Now it's praying that no ball accidently will fall for a Tottenham player in a good spot. I know they are one of the best defensive unites in the world but still, I think it bears more risk than carrying on like how they were playing before.

Forgot Llorente played for Juve.

Surely not a goal against his ex club.

Decisive moments they switched off.

Let's not forget they were 2-0 down in the first leg. Coming back would've been fine in a group stage match, in a two legger it can have a detrimental effect.

Son is quality. He doesn't have weaker foot which gives him so much advantage, wish more players improve their weaker foot, especially attackers.

Yeah i think he's great. I'd take him over Martial easily although Martial hopefully will become more.

Bravo, Stones, Danilo, Yaya, Foden are others who aren't first choice and then there is Bernardo and Zinchenko who would be replaced by Sterling and Mendy when fit.
