Champions League | Matchday 6

Koeman is pathetic hahaha but i agree that Barca's problems are much deeper than just the coach..

For most of the match it looked like Bayern did not even bother to do something. Yet they cruised to an easy 3-0...

Jorge Jesus keeps getting screwed in CL

What else is new

Edit; NOT! Saved by VAR

I have no idea how they said that Kiev goal was offside. I think they picked the wrong guy on VAR

The last few years, Barcelona was an over inflated air balloon and Messi was the plug holding the air in.
Not really. They lost 8-2 to you guys and won a measly domestic cup

They were missing Ansu Fati, Aguero and Dembele tonight, plus Braithwaite

Pen to Lille but it won't stand, outside the box

Everyone expected Barcelona to have a tough time, but there are worlds between Barcelona and Bayern.

I think even Bayern was surprised by how weak they were. At least the Barca supporters had some fun during the game. They were playing a ball from one end of the stadium to the other.. not even watching anymore.

Ok, so YB can stay on 3 . Rest of the teams stay just a point ahead of us. Villarreal at home would be a bore fest but hope we get a goal somehow and win it.

Draw for Atalanta and Villareal is good for us.

Yep. Already shaping up better than last year in that respect. It was a bit of anomaly that all three teams took 3 points against each other last season.

Wolfsburg manage to not concede with 10 men. I know, crazy. And even against a better team than Young Boys! Must be the turf right?

Read more people say something similar today. Must be really bad for the looks of it.
Yeah, the big difference between the 8-2 and the 3-0 today is that in the 8-2 Bayern went full force and Barca tried to play against that. It was a freak result and embarassing to Barca, but it was a clash of good teams.

Today Barca had no real chances and Bayern were not interested in going full force because (apart from the ok-ish first minutes from Barca) it never looked like they had to. Most BL teams force them to do more these days.

They weren't as bad as in the 8-2 in a way, but this was sadder, if anything. Played to not get embarassed, still got embarassed, and Bayern didn't play to destroy either

Just heard: Barca didn't have a single shot on Bayern's goal. First time since 2003.

I believe this sums it up perfectly

you should bet on that because you might be the only one... the prize would be huge for you...
i honestly can't see us losing by less than 2 goals...

well... it wasn't a difficult call...

Why did Barca let Griezmann go? They're missing quality up front

money.
we get 40 million and get rid of astronomical wages...
besides he has been very average in barça, he does not fit and he is 30.

They are a team in transition, they are only one game in the league (right?) they have a lot of super talented young players who aren't there yet. But still they are Barca, and this is not how Barcelona can present themselves. I have serious doubts Koeman is the man for the job.

Right, after the 3 0 I wonder if they really care? Looks dysfunctional.

no, we don't care. it was expected as you can see in my previous message.

circumstances can't be worse... the noise around the team... all the injuries... nah.

he is probably not but he should be enough to finish top4 in laliga, which is the real goal for this season.
top 4 + improvement of some young players (nico, gavi, pedri, ansu, balde, demir...) and the season will be good.

we probably have at least 2-3 years ahead before being competitive in europe. in 2 years we will get rid of basically all the poisoning contracts, young players will not be so young, we will be able to make some signings...

Barca are trash.. who the feck are some of these players playing for them anyway.

good young prospects. they should play more.

Busquets subbed... hasn't impressed anyone today, but taking the captain off without an apparent reason? Strange move by Koeman, or am I missing something?

he hasn't impressed anyone in years. he has been horrible for at least 3 years. euro was a x file.
barça fans want him out, same applies for the rest of the captains (especially sergi roberto who has never been a thing).
the only surprise is that gavi entered in the pitch instead of nico, who is the most similar player.

They were battered pretty resoundingly for the last 30 minutes though. Very lucky not to lose. Not a good example of a team doing well while down to 10 men. It was also 30 minutes not 60.

So just like us. Just that they didn't not concede twice albeit playing against a significantly better team and have a significantly worse team than us. Pretty damning.

No, it’s basically meaningless. Lille aren’t that good BTW, they’ve been struggling a lot in Ligue 1 this year having lost their coach. Wouldn’t say they are significantly better than YB anyway.

In the 5 games played so far? After winning it last season? Now that is meaningless. I'm pretty sure they are a much better side than YB.

But anyway. Point is we completely fecked up and going down to 10 men shouldn't be an excuse for the shithouse subs and tactics deployed by our manager once again

Not only that. I believe they are still paying the last installments for him.
A part of the transfer deal from Pool to Barca was a certain amount of money due for each goal he scored in the CL. It wasn't specified for which club. Fast forward, Coutinho is on loan at Bayern and scores 2x against Barca, and Barca had to pay Pool for it.
Heard that somewhere, don't know of it's true but it is a hell of a funny story :D

Who would have thought that the 2014-15 treble season Barcelona obtained would condemn the whole Club for the next 7 years and even longer...

I know Messi's not responsible for the terrible spending and economical harships of the Club, but it's sad he left the team when they need him the most. Even if they weren't able to pay the 50% of his wages, he surely could have stayed and lead.

If I were Laporta, I would immediately talk to Xavi and dismiss Koeman... We all know he has a crappy squad and can't compete with Bayern, but one thing is playing not to lose from start to end and other thing is doing and giving the best version of what you have. He accomplished the first. This Barcelona team has a frozen heart. No leaders. No blood in their veins to act like the big club they represent. A succesful competent manager must ALWAYS play to win no matter the rival and Koeman seemed OK with debuting 17 year olds vs world class players... The comparisons are terrible. Nagelsmann can calmy trust in an 18 yo kid like Musiala while Koeman has to depend on the slowest player to stop him like Sergi Roberto. Sergi Roberto gets like 80% more money than Musiala and he plays like a turd....

Let's not even talk about squad depth. There's a world of difference of having Gnabry, Coman, Sané, Cuisance, Lucas Hernandez, Sabitzer and even Choupo Moting than Demir, Puig, Mingueza, Umititi, Gavi... It's unbelievable that Koeman thrashed Luis Suárez to have Luuk De Jong and Martin Braithwaite.
