Champions League | Matchday 6

Game of two halves. And it’s only the first half!

The ajax stream started showing the utd villareal game. The admin is trolling knowing that hoards of utd fans are watching it

Long balls is the way to take on this Liverpool team. Brentford and now Atletico showing they are so vulnerable. Hope ole is watching this. But he will still try and play from the back!
Tbh that's pretty much how we conjure up most our chances anyway (outside of our individually brilliant moments), its usually our CBs pinging a long diagonal to our attackers.

Fitness problems? Hummels had a decent amount of time to return from injury early in the season.

They midfield and attack is mostly fully fit as well. You can't always have your whole squad fully fit. The either system has been poor with that stupid diamond formation.

Every play Ajax play the ball wide, Dortmunds midfield has to stretch to reach them, then an Ajax midfield runs into the middle unmarked to get a shot.

Mate, Sammer literally said the sentence you are quoting on live TV a few minutes ago.

Hummels in particular was injured after the EUROs and has been playing through knee problems even after returning to the team. He's missed every call-up for Die Mannschaft for a reason.
Meunier had covid.
Guerreiro picked up several injuries.
Zagadou hasn't played yet.
Even Schulz has been injured after showing a bit of form at the start of season.
Morey is basically out for the season.

In the "mostly fully fit midfield":
Brandt had the Rona and picked up a muscle injury.
Dahoud is currently out with a muscle injury.
Reyna is currently out with a muscle injury.
Can played his first minutes last weekend.
Bellingham missed a call up for England, because he's playing too much and needs rest.
Even Reinier missed the preseason.

The "mostly fully fit attack":
Malen has a fitness deficit, Rose even admitted that in a presser.
Reus is so fit, he had to leave an international break early and missed the Gladbach game with knee problems.
Haaland just returned from injury.
Hazard missed several weeks with an ankle injury.
Even Moukoko and Tigges picked up a few weeks worth of injuries.

Liverpool do concede a lot of goals these days
Their full backs are a bit sus defensively, not helped by their super high press, and VVD doesn't seem his usual monstrous self since coming back from injury. There's definitely goals to be had against them, unfortunately I can see us conceding at least three against them too.

It's hardly a knee-jerk post, his distribution has always been very good and would be welcome in unlocking Liverpool's high pressing full backs.
Im not saying it's knee jerk. It's just this guy was useless up until about 2 weeks ago. The narrative has changed so quickly. All that unbearable microanalysis that was seemingly only applied to Lindelof has vanished. Maybe he was a decent player afterall?

Tbh, there ain't much difference between him and Maguire for me. Varane is a big miss
All 3 are very good defenders. Just Maguire is going through a bad spell.

He was always a decent player, I think most fans could appreciate that. Just that he wasn't perhaps good enough to be a nailed on starting CB, especially with his weaknesses that leaves him exposed sometimes. Especially playing alongside Maguire.

Sheriff at it again. Thill with a left footed recreation of Beckham vs Colombia.

This ref is trying everything to keep Dortmund in the game.
