Champions League | Matchday 6

City are all over PSG, extremely unlucky to be behind. Also extremely lucky to have 11 players on the pitch. Surprising because PSG had 12 players up to that point.

On this game alone Neymar is too greedy, Messi is a passenger and Mbappe just isn't all that anymore.

Mbappe create the goal and the only other chance PSG have had. He's the only attacking player doing anything

I swear Porto go belly up for Liverpool every season.
It's their European Norwich fixture.

Teams so often roll over for them, it's so boring. They never do for us of course, they always seem to have the game of their lives, defending in numbers

If only we could bring back the fear factor we used to have

Yea, like I stated. If poch makes those three work, it will be a miracle. This isn't Messi in his prime anymore. If it is to work, they need neymar and mbappe to put in more shift, which I doubt they will.

Seems like a Manager to watch out for. I was impressed towards how he organized brugge against psg
I mean, you're very obviously only saying that because you know it'll actually be very easy to get Mbappe, Neymar and Messi to click, you're just pretending it'll be a challenge so you can give your favourite manager some extra credit for it later down the line.

Wait a min. Did BT just cut to ads because there was nothing left to discuss, like maybe a stamp

Quality on show here is very high. City would be so deadly with a proper forward.

Can’t for the life of me believe they never changed that to a red card though. He had the look of someone who knew it was going to be changed to a red and knew it was a brutal connection. Makes AWB’s red even more annoying, and the lack of consistency with VAR, which is proving to be even more of a joke this season.

Mbappe has been the only PSG player doing anything of use in City’s half. He’s been very good with very little service imo.

Only when he gets space and can run fast. The amount of times he's lost the ball with a loose touch...

He does the opposite with ole as well, all very transparent.

Didn't AWB at least get the ball as well?

KDB's is a leg breaker
Nope, looking at the AWB video he got there just 2nd and caught the man instead of the ball, KDB gets there first but then catches the man.

The real reason KDB isn't sent off is because the ref gave a yellow, whereas in Uniteds game the ref gave a red. VAR rarely changes the on field decision - highly likely if the on field cards were reversed then those decisions would also have stood. Just a lucky break that the ref was lenient.

Have to agree that the first half of that game was the highest quality of football (bar City's finishing) that I've seen in a long time.

The Holy Trinity of shite at the left side of PSG's defence is "the highest quality of football"

Mahrez was shite and still had Mendes and Gana on toast!

I'm not getting what you're saying. Are you saying Messi cannot deal with high press?
His lack of movement off the ball is leaving the midfield with a lot more work to do and are allowing the City CBs to step up and press them higher up the pitch. City aren’t building play from midfield, it’s further up because of it and it’s why it looks as if PSG are away from home right now. City are boxing them in and it’ll get worse

BT discussed it now. They think red except Lescott and Hargreaves

Also, was Bernardo Silva not offside?

Liverpool don’t bottle it against cannon fodder in Europe. They were never dropping points tonight.

They didn't, did they! Wankers the lot of them.

Mention what? BT talking about the stamp?

He's saying that in defense they are playing with 10 men.

Hard to argue, although such a team can be successful I think (cf Villarreal 06 with Riquelme)

Ahh. Yes thats true, that has always been Messi. Lets see if he can create that moment of magic that justifies that most of the time.

City will win this. They look much better. Very lucky not to be down to ten men, almost identical to AWB’s red versus Young Boys.

 you must not know much about football if you think it will be easy to get those three to work together. For it to work, at least one of them must have the a high workethic and be selfless. At the moment, none of them have that. It won't be balanced and effective with the way it is now.

Desailly keeps talking about “intention was not there”. Substantial majority of red cards don’t involve intention to injure the opposing player. They are still red cards.

True. City's possesion play is like that against anyone in the world though, its just world class. Ofcourse, its Messi's weakness too, so its making it worse. PSG's front 3 are leaving their midfield with a lot of work.

And now Fabinho gets away with a nailed on yellow with absolutely no attempt to play the ball. Both these teams get away with murder every fecking game.

Just go tennis style and give the managers 3 VAR calls per match or something. The decision should be independently taken and shown on big screen

Its Fabinho. He does that every game and gets away with it. Tactical fouling.

it’s mad how the angle of the camera changes how tackles look. Fabinho just slid in there and on first view looked like he went studs up into the Porto players knee. Wasn’t even close on replay.

That's a cop out response because you know what I said is true and you don't like it when you're called out on it.

As long as PSG wins, commentators/media wont care too much about Messi's performances, only when they lose will they start asking questions.

Yeah but considering he's done absolutely nothing its quite weird.

He literally made a 5 yard run and the commentators were literally nearly climaxing. Saying how great and talented he is.
