Champions League Last 16 games - Feb/Mar 2015

Neville's scathing criticism if Ozil is fun to listen to and spot on.

4th in the league, 2nd in the CL group stages and knocked out in the last 16. Wenger produces the same shit results every season. He can't even hide behind the money excuse any more.

I don't think so. Monaco are so disciplined.

Been keeping an eye out for Kondogbia since the start. He's really been fantastic, even without the goal he's stood out.

He was very good for Sevilla before he left for Monaco, I wanted Liverpool to sign him. Shame he moved to France, could probably do it in a better league assuming he's kept at his Sevilla level.

They scored 4 and conceded just 1 in the groups

Monaco have conceded just 1 goal in the group stages. An Arsenal walkover was never going to happen.

Still remember loads of people on here making fun of Monaco and how shit their group must've been for them to have finished top with only 4-1 GD... Found it rather ironic considering how everyone likes to bleat on about how defending sucks nowadays, but when a side actually does well it's only because the opposition is crap. :D

Leverkusen's performance has been a pleasant surprise, they've dominated Atletico so far and created chances, just off on the finishing. Need to be careful in defence though, Atleti nearly got in a sucker punch right before half time.

Specialist in failure ;)

Thought this was the away leg for Arsenal. Told all my arsenal mates they'd lose 2-1 then win return leg 4-0 but it's unlikely to happen.

More like specialist in doing the bare minimum.

Ozil drains energy from everyone in a 10 metre radius of him. Saw Berbatov and Davids give better body language after putting in transfer requests.

Cazorla and Koscielny were class. Bellerin's creating problems (for Monaco) done that wing; continues to be useful.

Agree with most of that, but would still add that despite a fairly apathetic display Özil wasn't really as terrible as Neville is making out. He lost the ball a couple of times (so did Cazorla and Sánchez), but he also created one gorgeous chance for Alexis and that first-time pass into Bellerín was also a great piece of vision.

He was linked with United although I never knew much about him. He looks like a pretty complete player based on that half, although that's a massive assumption as this is all I've seen of him.

Some poor individual performances by arsenal so far, when are they gonna buy a striker for gods sake? Welbeck, giroud just simply haven't pitched.

It's mostly rubbish to be honest. The same lazy cliche'd bollocks.

Unfortunately, you're right. Especially found it quite dishonest when he bizarrely criticised Özil passing the ball "behind" Alexis for that excellent one-two that led to the latter's great shooting chance inside Monaco's box. There was literally no other angle on the pass. No praise for his part in the move whatsoever. Also didn't note Özil's good form since returning from injury instead opting for some bs "he needs to start showing it" line... meanwhile praising Alexis who has dipped in form significantly in recent times.
