Champions League Knockouts (12 Aug - 23rd Aug)

Toko ekambi won't be allowed in the bus home.

Davies and Kimmich are much better than Bernat and Kehrer

I'd hardly count Davies and Kimmich as "defense" ^^

But yeah, they're both terrific players, no doubt, waaaay better than what we have. Bernat has something magic in the CL so far for us though, i can't explain it.

Lyon don't want to score, do they?

Their strikers must have some money on a Bayern clean sheet

Well worst case Coutinho, Martinez, Perisic, sadly Thiago, maybe Boateng, Tolisso and Alaba are leaving, only replacements so far are Sane and that French kid. They will have a lot of running to do.

Alaba, really? Surprised Bayern would let him go

Gnabry may have scored the goals, but I think Neuer has been their best player today, if it wasn't for his sweeping Lyon probably would've scored a couple.

Nah, you’re in the wrong. Remember Pardew got into a huge amount of shit for saying it on the BBC. No one really uses it anymore.

I agree it's a stupid way of making a point.

Just find it curious that this expression is considered insensitive, but "he'll murder ya" is sang from the rooftops. Or "slaughter", "maul them" is ok. Semantics I suppose.

I honestly don't care in discussing this any further on this thread - this game is far more interesting.

Contract extension talks going on forever now, he wants more money than Bayern is willing to pay. He's dreaming of Spain and with the finances of Barca And Real being as they are, it's 70:30 he'll stay.

World class LB and CB, potential for a world class DM, I'd pay him triple

Whenever we see a 6-0 or a huge victory in any sport ain't may comments "this shouldn't be allowed on a PG video" or "this will be seen on p*hub" etc....
So at least in my country it's pretty normal to refer to it that way

They're in crisis but they still playing CL football and won Liga last season. United on the other hand...

Good point.

United have been in crisis long enough that this season is actually a bright point and gives hope for the future, especially with a Sancho arrival if at all possible. Barcelona have a crisis by their standards, but like you said it's a very different story and shows just how good they've been for a long time. They're just at the end of an era and it's going to be a difficult transition for them. I don't think they'll go through the same crisis as United because La Liga is a bit weaker but it's still a possibility.

Lyon with a lot of these City-style fouls. They are lucky to have been carded only twice.

Alaba has been brilliant tonight

No way is Bayern letting him leave when he's performing this good in an unnatural position for him.

Some of that lot would walk into our side. Wish we had been able to sign Martinez after we played Bilbao.
If we can negotiate a good wage deal (not optimistic with our negotiator team), he may be a very good option to have even now at this age. Play both DM, and CB at high level.
