Champions League Gameweek 4

Messi following the ref to have a few words. "Neymar and Luis will spend much of the second half falling down inside the City Box. You got the UEFA memo, right?"

Barcelona were toying with them like a cat does a mouse until city got the goal.

I think Vidal was their attempt to replace Alves.

Roberto started playing there last year, this season should've been a fight between both of them but Aleix seems not bothered to do something in Barcelona

Roberto has been one of our better players but today, without Pique and Busquets his passing options are worse and the risks are showing

I have. Haven't missed more than a dozen Barça games since he's been there. I've also followed André closely. From Benfica, to Valencia, to Barça.
Then you're clearly off your rocker. This is Gomes' best game in a Barcelona shirt and even that's nothing compared to what Rakitic's best games looked like

Feck sake, that was so enjoyable until Barca gifted them a way back in.

Which twat was it with the wayward pass?

Barca were taking the piss until they decided to let City back in. Hopefully start of the second half order get restored.

Why isn't Vidal playing?

Been awful almost evert game, seems to not try hard enough at training, has problems with the manager and has "laughed" at being left out of the team via Twitter when we lost against Alaves I think

Basically, he's Anelka in Championship Manager 01/02

I enjoyed the half. We should've scored at least 2 more, but I didn't expect us to thrash City again.

Other than the last 5 minutes, it was a perfect performance.

That is not harsh, it is simply a gifted pen. Given the offside situation of the Eindhoven goal, it at least evens itself out.
Not yet. There's still the blatant penalty on Lewandowski that wasn't given.
The ref is having a total nightmare.

Why does Owen Hargreaves repeatedly keep calling Barca the best team in the world?

@ivaldo

Thought the pen was a bit like Darmian at weekend, contact with a theatrical dive which swayed the ref.

Watching it again its believable he didn't give city a pen, Barca have really got the rub of the green.

Hadn't seen this...it was a fairly stonewall penalty for Messi, right?

That's because he has been average so far by his standards. He's better than what he's shown so far. Anyway, I was talking about the present. I know Rakitic has been better for Barça than André Gomes. But if I had to pick one to start for Barça today, I'd pick André all day.

What a jerk. :annoyed:

Yes, today he's been great. Best of their midfield. But, he along with the others really need to step up. They are giving the ball away constantly

A lot of players fail to adapt to our midfield at least in the beginning as they look dull and superfluous. I don't know if they play scared of where they're playing or if its just something our management puts them through before they can start playing like themselves.

Happened with Sergi Roberto, Rakitic, Arda... and they all ended up playing good after their slump, maybe this is the game Andre Gomes starts turning it around
