The format doesn't have any sense and it is purely money driven to get as much matches as possible. That is the only thing important to Uefa. Also, the league format where you have 36 teams of which 24 goes through (really hard task for usual suspects) while playing 8 times has little sense. Even when you have a bit bigger games (Madrid - Milan, Liverpool - Bayer) there is no real tension or sense there are high stakes on the table considering they can still easilly get through. But, watering down the competition would my biggest gripe.
