Champions League 21/1/25 + 22/1/25

City beat Brugge at home easily and progress. Such a shame they've got in this position and have such and easy get out of jail game.

The upside for City is that PSG play Stuttgart next week.

Doesn't matter the result in that game City can catch either with a win.
Neither matters cause if we beat Brugge we finish above them no matter what.

Would he ? Playing with technical gimps ? Not a single player can do miracles with our team
True but he would improve us a good amount I believe. Next ugarte he would be by far our best passer and probably our most technical, such a step in the right direction.

No idea why people think City will easily beat Brugge. There is not a single City game you can head into these days certain that they'll win.

He would help I just disagreed with the miracle notion. I believe he would have looked a lot worse than what he is at PSG.

Like I said.

I meant we finish above Brugge, That other game is meaningless to City. We beat Brugge we finish above Brugge and guaranteed progression. We don't beat Brugge, we're out.

He's supported by an outstanding midfield partner and two of the best full backs in the world. We don't even have a left back.
So disrespectful to Luke Shaw...

Exactly; with a draw tonight you could have afforded a draw next week. But now you gotta win to go through. And given Brugge’s poor goal difference you’re guaranteed to go through if you defeat them.

Like they cruised to 3-0 win against Feyenoord, oh wait...

They are better than Brugge and they aren't in the same form now. They aren't perfect but at home they will no doubt do the job.

I'd like to be as confident as you about it.

Who says I'm confident? I'm just saying they are pretty fragile and that's not a given for them

The issue being we're like to 6-0 up at half time, bring on Gundo and Lewis and draw 6-6 to go out.
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see us go out if Chelsea give us a seeing too at the weekend.

Stuttgart is guaranteed to get through with a draw, no need to take chances…
Oh you are right... assuming they draw and City win, they would at least go past Brügge and Zagreb has a much worse goal difference.

So Stuttgart - PSG could be a boring 0-0 as both teams don't need to risk anything.

If we beat Lille we might even make top 8.

We took 7 points of City, Bayern and Benfica, while at the same time we're barely 4th in the league and in abysmal form.

Joao Neves does look really good. PSG were due a hit at some point, I guess.

@padr81 where's it all going wrong for you currently? You're beating teams you should be comfortably (West Ham, Leicester, Ipswich) but anyone semi-decent seems to be able to get at you.

Don’t know if they’ll take their anger out on us this weekend or if this will knock the stuffing out of them and we can sneak a win at the Etihad. They look extremely vulnerable at the back this season.
Think you’ll give it a good go. I’ve gone for a 2-2 draw. Can tell why they’re signing a few CBs this month.
