Champions League 2022/23 - Matchday 4 - 11/12 October

Inter have it in their hands. Beat Victoria and move to round of 16 at Farca's expense.
Yep you're correct , somehow I thought their level on points.

Barca sure made a mess out of this group.

As things stand we've got... United, Barcelona, Ajax, AC Milan, Juventus, Atletico, Arsenal in the Europa knockout games.

Vs. Madrid, Bayern, Inter, Liverpool and oil clubs in the CL.

Legitimately more actual big clubs in the Europa.

Now watch them draw the czech potato farmers at home and lose in Munich while the cnuts win both and somehow go through

Also, will Xavi talk about Dembele being spared a clear red card this time?

This Barca aren't beating Bayern, the only way it's Bayern getting an early red card or cheeky ref decisions.

The max they can get, if they play good, might be a draw.

That asllani can feck himself. How selfish you have to be to not pass the ball in that situation in the dying minutes? Barcelona would be burried then and there.

It will be like 91, when we beat Barca in the then Europa League, while the CL had the suspicious Marseille against Red Star in the final.

Bayern is through to the final round - they might not play with the best team.

21 champions league between them and they will be fighting for the “wo woahuuuo wo woah wuo o o o wo” trophy. Mental.

The potential storylines in this EL season >>>>
We are definitely facing De Jong, Pogba or the Ajax manager that was dissing us.

It's just mental isn't ?
The europa lot have a cumulative share of 21 cl titles between them, when has that happened?

You lot got the wrong striker from milan.

If it was up to me, we would have gotten the right striker from Inter :wenger:

Lukaku guarantees goals, we can be sure of that, but that's always been my worry. Is the trade off worth it? I'm not sure.

Tuchel is a great tactician though, so I suppose it wouldn't be too much to expect him to be able to create a system where someone like Lukaku can flourish and the attacking fluidity and structure doesn't suffer a great deal. Maybe someone like Lautaru Martinez is the better fit, even if he doesn't bring Lukaku's volume of goals.

Bayern is through to the final round - they might not play with the best team.

They will want to win the group, though. I can see them playing their first team against Barcelona, but second team against Inter.

Marseille was a great team in the 90s, one of the best in Europe and Red Star was full of balkanic talented players (before Yugoslavia got partitioned)

Different era of football, when talent was more widespread and no Bosman rule to benefit bigger teams with more money to sign more talented foreigners without restrictions, at least not at the level we see nowadays.

Now rich teams who don't have proper national players for top level, can get more foreigners to replace the nationals who aren't good enough, if you do the scouting correctly it's a a huge advantage.

Not sure about that. In this stressful weeks not doing an away trip gives a player 2 days rest. But yes, there is some that surely want to play.

Müller had problems with a nerve in his back - that is why he went down after his goal and his half assist. Nagelsmann told that he will be fine against Freiburg (probably was again after the physios treated it)

Marseille was kind of an oil club though. They signed many stars and eventually they cheated.

Great call although these parts aged like milk.

His signing wqsDefinitely one your club's darker days.

A bit of copium there as I knew we were strongly linked with Lukaku and I was trying to convince myself to be positive about it. I did say the trade off didn’t seem worth it though

Hate stadiums that have them running tracks like Napoli's. Feels like the supporters are so far from the action.

Much prefer English stadiums in that regard

We all do it mate, such is the life of a football fan

Psv should be fecking ashamed of themselves that they didnt beat Rangers for that CL spot. They would be midtable in the Dutch league

They tried to bribe a lower table team(Valenciennes) to play safe to not injure their players before the UCL final against Milan, as they did not have subs to cover certain players.

That was it.

Wasn't there allegations of doping and bribing the officials as well?
My memory is kinda fuzzy but I'm sure it was more than that.
