We had this already yesterday but it’s 1 report out of 10 while the other 9 are saying this is probably happening. But once another report comes in saying that then it’s all panic stations and everyone will lose their ish.

Bit pricey but we were hardly expecting a bargain for Madrid’s first choice DM, 2 weeks before the window closes
Except nothing in the past proves he could do that part. He has always been a final ball player, but never a build up type of midfielder, which is required in possession football.

He was part of 3 man midfield and he was the most advanced one. You only saw him deeper than usual because Brentford isn't a possession-based team and they depended a lot on his long balls from midfield.

Looks like Ten Hag has changed his tune and realised I need abit of steel as my Defensive Midfieder.
Different approach now instead of De Jong, scramble to get a different type of player in now.
If we do end up get Casemiro in then we still need another midfielder in who can pass and dictate the play.
You have McFred as subs who are just runners so we have legs to put on last 10-15 mins of games. All there good for.
Erikesen and Bruno as the other midfielder to play with Casemiro and new midfielder.

Casemiro sees the writing on the wall. He clearly wants to be a starter and he's now seen a direct replacement, Tchouameni, being bought for €100m, a player who isn't going to be happy on the bench. Game time limited by Camavinga also.

Look I see the benefits of getting Casemiro. He's currently the best DM in the world, he was crucial in Real/Brazil's attempt in getting the best out of Varane/Fred, we're really really weak in CM and we're running out of time. However I still maintain that this is not the deal we need to engage into. Our squad is a mess and it will take us years to get it sorted. By that time Casemiro will need to be replaced same as Varane, Fred, Eriksen, Bruno and DDG. That's a massive rebuild to be made. We therefore need to think of that now. If we're throwing money around then let's add players like Laimer and Soler who can improve us greatly now but will be there in the future as well.

I’d prefer Casemiro + VDB + Eriksen midfield, rather than FDJ + Fred/Mctominay + Eriksen midfield. It looks more balance to me. I simply dun trust McFred can play DM role on his own.
Casemiro + Fred + VDB/Bruno/Eriksen is the best of the lot

Even if he gives us 4 years of WC performances that’s still long enough. You’re paying for world class here and now.

If 70 million euros is to be believed, that's about £59m. Personally, even at 30, I think Casemiro is worth that. It's probably our most "in need" position and he'd give us at least two years, possibly three four, as one of the very best in that area. If that helps us get back in the top four then it's worth it.

Yes that's pretty much it. Given the long transitional phase we are entering (or perpetually in), we'll end up having to replace him by the time our system starts coming together. Much better to go with someone we can develop with the system. I don't see us getting CL this season anyway. That would be half, a third or a fourth (if one is overly optimistic) of the good years he'd offer us.

I think the Casemiro signing would be good but we still need a player to play next to Casemiro who will drop deep as the #6 in the build up phase and enhance the transition as the #8 in possession. That player we also don't have along with not having a defensive minded midfielder with a strong rest defense ability, where larger spaces will need to be contained if we're to effectively transition into a team that wants to defend high up the pitch. Casemiro can give us the defensive solidity and raise our bottom level, which is imperative. But we also need the midfielder who is comfortable in a deeper role and will take on the creative burden in the build up phase.
A midfield 3 of Casemiro, Bennacer and Eriksen would be the way to go imo. Caqueret is another player who like Bennacer has the ability to be utilised as the #6/#8 and should be a option for us imo. Casemiro on his own won't be as transformative and Joel Glazer will have to make funds available for at least two more outfield players after signing Casemiro and the creative midfielder.

One way to qualify for that is through Europa and having one the best knock out players of all time certainly helps with winning it.

If we go with younger players who's to stay they wont leave the club in the future or during our transition. Taking Casemiro now (not that I think it will happen) means he can give us 3, 4 good years and in the meantime some players will be replaced, some wont, we'll buy young players, a mix. Not all players will be replaced in the same time and its a strange way of thinking, lets not buy a 30 old cause we'll have to replace him.
I have no doubt that he is still good at his age and probably for another 3-5 years but there is the thing that he has pretty much won everything there is. What if the shitshow at United makes him decide that after the WC this year he just can't be bothered anymore and is just putting in the bare minimum of work, after all he is still on a huge contract till he is 35 and since no one at United is bothering with player nutrition, why not do an Ando and have all the cake?
I simply think we should go into a completely different direction with our players, don't buy players who have won everything yet and don't buy players who are over the age of 25, ideally some that have potential for growth and look like real fighters. Malacia looks like a promising example of the players I would like us to bring in.
