The fact we're mentioning him in the same breath as Keane/Scholes/Robson tells you how sensational he's been. Still don't think he's as good as those three but he's better than Carrick at this point and that's no small feat.

I used to think he was top 3 CDM in the world. I'm now convinced he is the best. He's absolutely sensational, the best player in our team.

How many years of peak Casemiro left before he regressing as a player?

We're building a team around him and I'd say 3-4 years of peak Casemiro left, I'm happy.

Superb, I genuinely think he is more responsible for our current run than the manager. The player of his class improves any team and any system. Imagine if we had 2 more world-class players, we'd be running over every team. I really hate this buying system players thing whenever a new manager comes, just buy world-class players.

He's a monster. I am convinced we would won or at the very worst took a draw vs Arse if he played instead of McT. The quality gap between him and McT as a DM is as far as me and McT as DM. He is leagues above. The funny thing is brazilian players who worked out well so far for us are on defensive positions. Even Fred isnt that bad. Definitely bench quality at least and wont kick up a fuss while doing so. So much for samba attacking football eh

Actually reminded me of prime Paul Ince tonight - grabbed the game by scruff of the neck and played with swagger. Broke up attacks- cynically when needed, great passing and got himself into the box to finish for the first goal.

Casemiro is known to really take after himself, be the ultimate professional, a real student of the game etc etc and wants to be a manager long term apparently. Remember Mitten talking about him and what he was like off the pitch when he signed. Basically, everything that you want to hear. Never had many injuries. So the way he plays and all of the above, could easily see him being at his current level until 33-34, and then still being a very good player but needing some more rest and steadily declining between 34-36 or 37. But i definitely think we'll get 5 very good years out of him. Don't see him as someone who drops off a cliff after 2 years. He's just so smart and strong and naturally fit.

TBF, don't want to bring the argument up again but it's fair to say that he (obviously) hasn't done enough for us to be compared to them, but in football in general, taking into account how he's done for Brazil and Real Madrid, his peak ability, he absolutely is on par with them (can't speak for Robson as I was too young, but don't think there is anything between Keane and Casemiro as individual players, and the main difference between them would just be the sheer amount of Champions League wins that Casemiro has. But they are very similar as players for me. Roy Keane reincarnated as a Brazilian.

Casemiro and Martinez have been sensational, along with Rashford. When you consider how poor everyone bar Ronaldo, maybe Fred were last season…to have three players having fantastic seasons and the likes of Dalot, Shaw, Varane, Eriksen having very good seasons it’s great to see.

Case and Rashford fighting it out for player of the season. Case though is our best player for me, he’s absolutely phenomenal.

"Fernadinho was on a totally different level".

Graeme Souness. Take a bow, son.
This is dumb considering that when Fernandinho was playing his best football for City, Casemiro was still comfortably benching his @$$ for the Brazil NT.
I remember at the 2018 WC, many people were saying that Brazil’s elimination to Belgium was largely due to Casemiro’s absence through suspension. He was as good and important to his respective sides back then as he is now. He’s just getting more recognition these days because he’s playing in the PL.

I think a lot of people will just be realising now how good he actually is, myself included. Incredible.

The best thing is that he now has 9 goal contributions in addition to his fantastic defensive play. At this rate, he may reach 20 goal contribution by season end, which would be entirely unbelievable for a DCM

Yeah cause that transfer strategy has left us in such a good position post fergie.

Yeah the best thing about him is the world is discovering that he's actually a footballer and not just a sitting defensive midfielder working for Modric and Kroos.

He can play the game and he's making English Football his biatch.

I can see him being able to play for another 5 years at a similar level, he's already pretty slow, and seems extremely sensible in terms of looking after himself, with a decent injury record.

My guess is we have another 2 seasons of this iteration of Casemiro before he we see his heat map reducing down to more conventional DM positions and he plays as more of a DLP.

Yes he is as good as those three, easy. You just never appreciated him being the workhorse for modric and kroos.

With so many good qualities, he should be able to adapt/evolve into many different roles as he ages.

Amazing to have him in the squad, he is definitely one of the good guys in the dressing room.

Not a chance he actually said that. Did he actually say that?

Sure, he did. It was before Casemiro kicked a ball for us, of course, but still. It's in the clip that's already posted in this thread. He said something along the lines of Casemiro not being on the same level, and him never looking forward to watching him, like he looked forward to watching Fernandinho.

He's as good as them, it's just they were a part of amazing teams that won us trophies, so it's natural to think more highly of those them

We've seen players in the past like Scholes, and currently Modric, play at the highest level until they're 37-38. He's hoping Casemiro is one of those players for us. Loving having him here, him or Martinez for the armband next season!

Yup that's what it is. I used to think he was the best DM but now I think he is among the best complete midfielders in the world.

For the first time in many many years it's going to be hard selecting our very own player of the season. Casemiro, Rashford or Martinez.

Also I see the picture with Keane, I wonder if he knew who Keane was before joining Man Utd.

Age doesn't matter, if they apply themselves, careers up to 38 years old are quite common. Stanley Matthews was even 50 but there are more Zlatan, Giggs, Cafu, Zanetti, Puskas, Di Stefano, Cristiano, Messi, Scholes, Modric.... The list is probably endless.

PS why can't I use l o l? Is the caf this elitary or is there actually a very good reason for excluding it?

obvious by my username, keano is my favorite united player of all time but finally we have someone in midfield that gives us the same impact keano did

if we can get two more quality seasons from Casemiro that would be brilliant
