Carini has done wonders for Uruguay (team to concede the least goals in SAM WC qualifiers, even with him benching at Juve) and I would love to have another fellow countryman playing for us.
Yet, I just wonder what would be the point of signing someone with the same "flaw" as Barthez, namely size. I would have expected a Recber type being useful for those games when you have some really strong/tall forwards and the rivals bank on the aereal route to scoring.
Now if Barthez were leaving Recber + Carini would be a very solid partnership for the future.

Nice too have another quality pair of hands but i always felt that british keepers are the best.

He is class. In fact, Uruguay had trouble with FIFA in the U-19 WC because he played there being 15 (he was THAT good) and FIFA had some stupid rule (probably aimed at African players with "uncertain" DOBs) that you couldn't play twice in it so they weren't allowing him to play again.

Havent seen too much of Carini except at the WC ...but Cordoba is an excellent goal keeper. Did very well for Perugia.
