Carabao Cup 2024/25 | QF 17-18 Dec

Will enjoy it while it lasts then. We've bottled enough league cup finals recently to last a life time. Happy not to see another one.

Yeah after we lost those UCL finals to Barça I definitely don’t want to get into another one.

Bit of a difference, you don't even get proper Europe for Carabao, only worth watching at all to remind that football is way better without VAR.

Through just about. Good second half. Quansah didn't cover himself in glory.

Spurs hanging on. I want to see a competition without City in it

Pep usually takes this seriously, a bit more rotated than past seasons tonight I think.

Squad seems a bit small now though.

Hammers home for me how after selling Alvarez they don't have much really much besides Haaland up top. If he went down injured they'd be in a lot of trouble.

Yep. This isn't how Pep looks when he's defeated. He looked like he couldn't care less at the end. Same with Haaland on the bench who was laughing at the end. Looks like they just decided to throw this in the bin this season.

Pep has pretty much confirmed they don't care about the League Cup because of the amount of games.
Probably a decision he's made from this season. In the past he absolutely cared. They wouldn't win 4 on the trot otherwise.

Arsenal playing Saliba tonight at Preston surprised me. Guess Gabriel injury isn't that bad and he's in contention to play at Newcastle?

Also he wants to get that first trophy for the group as last time they won something all of Ozil, Aubameyang, David Luiz, Ceballos and Emi Martinez were all in their squad!

Any of balls 1-3 (Brentford, Southampton, Palace) home or away would cap off a great night.

Any of the rest would be a bloody difficult tie, especially away - though it'll also be annoying if we're dubbed 'lucky' if we're drawn at home to the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs.

The 'lucky' draw is getting Brentford, Southampton or Palace - home or away.

I kinda want Spurs at home for revenge.

When does the draw actually start?

Nobody wants to listen to Redknapp's analysis.

Wouldn't mind Newcastle. Developing history with them in this aren't we? 2 seasons in a row, 1 win each.

Close in the league table as well over the same time.

Don’t massively care about the League Cup. If there’s one thing Ten Hag didn’t leave us with it’s a massive desire to win a cup. Mental how much Spurs and Newcastle could do with winning it.

Palace did a good job on our B team tonight although they did lose Wharton and Eze to injury in first 20 minutes so that won't be an easy draw or Brentford away.

Southampton is certainly the bye, were lucky to beat Stoke last night.

No idea why Villa aren't going after this. Don't want to waste this team passing up winnable cups.
