Can United Win at Anfield?

I think this year we could beat them. we tried very hard last season but we lost. United's form is getting better and better and we should win the game at Anfield.

Manchester 2 Liverpool 1 <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

sure did, look at redcafe logo at the top-left of your screen, whos yo daddy! whos yo daddy!!?? 2-1 for united, rvn and scholes to score

The way Ruud is banging them in at the moment, I think we'll win 3-1.

the difference from last year is that Ruud is fairly fresh. when we played the skallies last year he looked spent and needing a break.
this time if hyypia's not careful he could get a spanking from the dutch farmboy...

With all our injury problems at the moment, plus the fact its at Unfilled, I would settle for a draw.

I think if we really went at them, we'd have a good chance. From Fergie's comments though, it sounds like we're not going to be very attack-minded and we're going to be fairly cautious...which makes me wonder how much help Ruud is going to have up front. I just hope he's not going to be asked to play against 2/3 defenders by himself again. Having Diego play alongside him against Newcastle, with Ole on the right really helped his game on Saturday.

I think we have a better chance now than we did last season. I think they thought that they we're superior to us last season and had a little swagger, but that's dissapeared this year and we can really hurt them on Sunday. I think we'll sneak a win in their dirty back yard. 2-1 UTD.

I would rate the game a 50%-50%...

Our chances would be better if just Fergie would let the team play some more attacking football. Why should we dig in, when we dont have a defence capable of that.

A hopefull guess from me would be 2-1

If we score first for once we have a good chance, if not, it'll be tough to get anything better than a draw I'd say.

Not a glorious win riding on a crest of a wave, full of confidence?? AS usual we will be chasing the game after going one down to some midget striker - a cross maybe headed in by the smallest player on the pitch!!!

Ya think.........!!!???? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Thats my opinion, a realistic one... I could, and I really wanted to, say that it was a sure win, but it aint...

We can, but we won't :(

It'll be close either 1-1 or 1-0 to them and I bet we get a man sent off (Barthez...?)

I was pointing out that it IS a 50-50 game, as ALL games where 2 teams compete are.. But nevermind.

That can be arranged

: Can United Win at Anfield?

Certainly possible....but I would think a draw more likely ,if only because of your defensive frailties.
The Scousers will be determined not to loose, though after the run of defeats you Mancs have had against them I'd guess there'd be an argument that on the law of averages,it's your time to win.
Somehow,I do think that so far,you have been flattered by your performances in the CL...let's face it....you've played no one of note yet.I think that now your CL campaign starts...no easy games....I can see Deportivo and Juventus rip your defence apart.Failure in the CL,which I believe is inevitable, will at last force you Mancs to realise that your team is in decline.

As for the PL....only one winner...and that is the current Champions !! :D

It's lose not loose but then again being an Arsenal fan, English is likely to be you second language, pretty much like your team.

"The scousers are determined not to lose"?? Really you don't say.

What we must understand is that there is every chance Liverscum will use the tactics they normally do against us.

Sit back and defend and hope for room on counter attacks. If they do this the best we can hope for is a draw.

If they play their normal brand of football we will beat them 2-0.

In saying that I reckon itll be 2-2 !

With a full strength team? Certainly. But with all the players we have injured, I'd settle for a draw. To be honest, the performance against Basle doesn't inspire me with great confidence, even though we won, and Poo will be fired up for this one.
I think it'll be a 1-1 draw. Forlan and Heskey to get the goals. ;)

3-0 United. I've seen things from the boys this last week I haven't seen in a while. Total Football. And Veron even made a great tackle in Basel.

I remember the last away game against them, we made a couple of mistakes in the defence. I hope our team will prepare well a strategy not to concede a goal to them. Even if we don't win we can still getting a draw.

If the question is only about the capability of us beating them, then the answer has to be yes. We can more than match Liverpool position for position, except for the midfield. However Scholes and Veron and Solskjaer are doing a great job and Fortune is chipping in too with the 'dirty' work. So, yes, we have more than a realistic chance of beating Liverpool. It is down to the boys on the day to get their act together. If they do, then we will win, unlike the two previous years when we seemed to let it go against them...

Maybe that's why SAF comes out and says on record, that this time we'll be the one to do the defending? Maybe this is an ol' trick of his again ;) ;)

Hate to do this to you, but if you're gonna pick up on spelling mistakes.....

Shouldnt that be Your?

I have a good feeling about sundays match... 3-1 us.

Of course we can. Just two seasons ago we seemed we can always beat them on any ground. Our recent shameful records against them must be stopped. All players and the manager must have the determination and spirit to win this game. I truly believe we can beat them, if we have the right tactic, right attitude and fair luck.

We need to play Liverpool at their own game. They will just sit back and wait for us to get sucked forward and then hit us on the break as they usually do.

We need to be a bit clever and sit back as well, that way they will have no space to score their usual breakaway goal. When any team plays like that against Liverpool they lose their rythym, that's exactly what Valencia did.

I'm really banging on the stats that having lost to them for the past 5 meets, it's time for us to win.

Am getting really stressed out as I'll be watching the match at a pub with some Liverpool fans and I really want us to win or I'll never hear the end of it!

Altho' we do have their extremely early exit from CL to keep them in line... ;)

It really depends on what kind of team "appears" on that day - the one against Newcastle or the one against Man City. we never really know anymore.

Liverpool you are getting closer to being a top team. just watch the pic and when you arrive in the City, you are there.

i think we have a great chance of beating em. i think now we have found our scoring touch and we are scoring goals for fun aswell. liverpool are not in good from right now so we'll have to see.
i recon gerard houllier has trying to strir things up a bit by claiming gerrards back to his best, intent on making the man utd camp nervous. yeah right, stevie ain't even played a game, hes only had training. we'll see how he does tonight in against arnhem.

You lot are not exactly Valencia, in fact not even close. Don't be fooled by your performance against Basle.
