Calzaghe - Hopkins

they referred to him as that on HBO many times if I recall correctly.

it was probably coined by Roy Jones Jr.

Early predicitions?

This will be closer than Mayweather - Hatton (which incidentally I predicted a winn for pretty boy;))

But anyway, it'll be closer. I'll go for Hopkins just to shade it, purely because he is on home turf, and Calzaghe is going up to his weight.

Cue patriotic british blindness and wild predictions for a Calzaghe easy victory......like they said about Hatton!!!

If Calzaghe does not let Hopkins get to him then its a easy win for Calzaghe. Moving up a weights won't be that much of a big deal he's been wanting a move up to light-heavyweight for a long time.

B-Hop is a great brawler of a fighter, always pushing the boundaries, probably will get in at 5-10 headbutts and probably the same number of low blows in this match, very entertaining boxer, always a good watch

Calzaghe will box this feckin big mouthed cnut's head off

Calzaghe by unanimous points decision

Hopkins has been outboxed several times, and still sneaks in with a KO at the end(usually as a result of all the damage he additionally inflicts throughout the match with a cheap shot here and there). He is getting real long in the tooth, and that is what cost him against Taylor

Hopkins has only KOed one opponent since 2002, and that was against De La hoya, who was far smaller than him and didn't look at all eager to keep fighting. He's basically a spoiler these days who stops other fighters fighting their fight. He'll try his best to make this ugly and upset Joe's rhythm, but I think Joe will clearly outwork him and win by decision.

Calzaghe lacks the punching power to take out someone like Hopkins by knockout in my opinion. He also has brittle hands.

Calzaghe's gonna rip his head off, hopkins is what 42?

I couldn't claim to know a great deal about boxing or be a particularly big fan of the sport but sometimes the big fights are very entertaining.

Every time i've watched Calzaghe i've enjoyed it because he is an exciting boxer and a bit of a show off. I reckon he'll do it.

Is this PPV on Setanta or do you just get it if you're subscribed? Can see myself staying up all night for this :D

cool... anyone know what time (GMT) its actually on?

Can't wait for this might take a nap from about 12 to 2, and then get bang on the beers.

I can't really see how Calzaghe's a 2/7 chance. That's like Man Utd playing Fulham at home and it's nowhere near that clear cut is it? My antennae says lay Calzaghe but I don't know too much about boxing.

I might put a few quid on Hopkins, and cover Calzaghe to win by TKO. The odds are better for that. Either way the bookies in Britain will have low odds for Calzaghe because they know he will be the backed man. Still think he will nick it though.

Hopkins touching 3.8 on Betfair. That really is too big, but i really wanna see Joe win so it`s tough to put the money down.
