Probably going to go for the 20GB one if possible because for what i need it for the 60GB system is unnecessary.

I've tried the obvious places (game, amazon, play) are there any good online stores that you guys know of?

Thanks.

Erm, 20GB and 60GB are exactly the same bar the HDD space...same price too, plus the 20GB has been discontinued

Just remembered that the 20Gb is discontinued, so you can only get em second-hand or on ebay.

A 60Gb 360 with Halo 3 and Mass Effect is going for £170 on gamestation though if you're interested.

Go for the Blu-Ray one, it's codenamed PS3.

Thats not a 360, thats a Playstation 3 - manufactured by Microsoft's rival, Sony. And if he's looking for nothing more than a 20GB console, im assuming he wont be content in splashing out £300.

Exactly. I'm on a budget.

Ye, put £300 instead of £299.99 to make it look more expensive than it actually is.

That is good actually.

Thing is though i'm on a bit of a budget so im just after the console and Fifa.

How about the Arcade version of the xbox?

Well if it's only FIFA you want for now then the cheapest offer I can think of is GAME's 60Gb FIFA 09 bundle for £180.

Sooner or later you WILL buy a Harddrive, take it from me. Its best to buy it now with the console since it'll be cheaper in the long run, and trust me you want to play online. So I wouldnt bother with the arcade.

Esmufc feck off you fecking geek. We don't give a shite about the fecking PS3 so stop spamming every Xbox thread with PS3 bullshit you fecking idiot. Get a life you fecking nerd... mother fecka

That, or add £40 to get the 60gb hdd with it. Id strongly advise the latter, though its up to you.

Why is it so important i have such a large HD though?

Literally all i want it for is playing a few games, some of them online against a few mates that have also got 360's.

Won't the arcade version and a memory card provide that for now?

Thanks all for your help so far too, mucho appreciatedo :D

Sainsbury ( instore only ) have an offer on at the moment:

Xbox 360 Arcade: £99.97
Xbox 360: £139.97

Tesco & Asda were selling Fifa 09 for £30ish on release day.

A quick google search brought up these:

The 256MB with the arcade will fill up very quickly. I dont even think you can even download any demos with that much space (average demo ranging from 500mb to around 1.2GB I think) and only possibly a few videos. Take it from me mate, im usually someone that will suggest the most economically viable option, but in this case Ill have to make an exception.

Yes the Arcade will serve you well for nothing more than a few games with mates, but you'll save money in the long run seeing as the 360 HDD is stupidly pricey on its own, and unfortunately those cnuts from M$ have made it impossible to fit any old cheaper harddrive like with the PS3.

I can't find that.

I faced a similar situation recently mate. My decision was to go for the Arcade, and I think I made the right one

The 256MB memory card is absolutely ample for saving games on, I've discovered. Since I only play relatively few games - I've picked up The Godfather and Forza 2 very cheap, will be paying for Pro Evo when it comes out, and bar maybe another sports game I'll probably not buy again until the next Forza or Pro Evo

The hard drive isn't so important for guys like us. Are you arsed about downloading demos and videos to your hard drive at this stage? No, you just want the console to play games

And you can connect to Xbox Live perfectly fine to play your mates too. You don't get the fancy HDMI cables, but you get what makes it work. So as long as you have an internet connection, you're sorted. You need something to save your gamer tag on, but your memory card is fine for that. You'll have to purchase Xbox Live gold membership to play against your mates, but you only get silver for free on all consoles anyway, to my knowledge

My tactic is to make this last me for a couple or so years, and then migrate to a PS3 when I can afford it, which hopefully by that point will be slimline too. If worst comes to the worst, you can always buy a seperate hard drive, and any fancy cables. But if you can get an Arcade for £100 or so, that's my advice

I've noticed these fanboys can get quite sniffy if you're not buying all the top end gear straight away... just ignore them!
