Right gents going to a buy a PS3 game on my way home. Have Call of Duty 4and GTA4. I want to buy something that isnt designed for online play and doesnt end after about 6 missions.

I know you don't want an online game, but wait and get COD5 it really would be worth it.
Otherwise Metal Gear Solid is a good shout. Cut scenes can be annoying but they are worth it. The game is amazing. Drakes fortune is meant to be good.

No. Theres this shooter called Legendary thats supposed to be much better.
Liked Metal Gear Solid on the PS2 might give it a go. I loved COD4 but cant play it online so the number of levels in the game itself annoyed me. I wanted more............

It's kind of an RPG/Action/Adventure, set in some medieval-esc realm. I'm not a big fan of RPGs but I really enjoyed this game, lots to do. Main story and endless side quests. I'd say well over 250 side quests which are all enjoyable.

I would say either Oblivion or Fallout 3 - both games were built exclusively for singleplayer and you should easily notch up at least 50 hours in each.

turn it up to hard and it will last a while unless your one of those multiple hours a day gamer.

Well he wanted to buy one game, I only suggested the price afterwards incase he regarded it cheap enough to buy ontop of whatever he's sought to buy. But as it being the only game to buy...then no, and playing something on hard and dying alot just to increase the time it takes to complete the game isnt exactly my idea of fun.
Well mate picking a game purely on how long it takes to complete single player is just as rubbish a suggestion.

Recently been playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in co-op mode with my bro. Its an okay game, never played the previous and don't know much of the story line but you can go around shooting people and it lasts longer than COD4 it seems.
And I hate these shoot em' up games, I'm so used to using a mouse I just can't get the hang of the joypad.

The lack of keyboard and mouse support in PS3 games is a total barbarity, because it's all there in the box.
Had a quick look on the way home didnt pick anything up though. Gonna get PES2009 and one of the other games you kind gentlemen recommended tomorrow. Its the last weekend for ages that I'll get a chance to get stuck into something, bastard exams. Cheers for the tips

For 12 quid you really can't go wrong with it. Swooshboy on here is the only person on my friends list that has actually played it (but he's hardly ever online). Elvis says he's got it, but he doesn't show up in the stats comparison.
Absolutely fantastic game. Best on the PS3 by quite some margin, IMO.
