The ITK phenomenon goes well with the lack of substance which characterizes Twatter in general. I suspect many of these muppets actually sense this too, deep down. It's some sort of hollow game more than actual gullibility. Well, it's the latter combined with a hoard of genuinely stupid cnuts who are - as the article correctly says - far too obsessed with transfers.
The multiplication and spread of information is the main "point" of Twatter. Whether the information is accurate or not - is secondary. Some people understand this and just engage in it anyway, out of boredom or God knows what. And some are, again, true idiots who believe anything served up as long as it's in line with their preferences and prejudices.
I agree with what Steve said above, by the way. The media bemoaning this state of affairs is just hypocrisy as long as even "serious" papers contribute significantly to the fecking thing themselves.
