Burn After Reading *Spoilers*

I loved Burn After Reading. One of the funniest stuff was when JK Simmons character enquiries the reporting agent, what the hell is going on

I'll just start by saying I never called it shit, just a big disappointment.

I was refering to this comment:

I love that whenever someone calls a movie shit it must be because they "didn't get it."

Grow up eh?

Benjamin Button wasn't a Coen film, it was directed by David Fincher, btw.

Fair enough though that you were disappointed with the film after seeing the trailer. I don't think any of the cast would say it was their finest work, I just think it was good to see the likes of Clooney and Pitt playing against type. Same with McDormand who normally plays quite strong characters in their films.

Love burn after reading, one of them films you can watch again and again, the ending was brilliantly funny I thought.

Yeah, I love it too. Think the Coens are on a superb streak right now and deservedly taking a break this year after 4 great films in 4 straight years which are all as different as can be in the "Coen universe". Testament to their greatness really.

Though I do think their whole career is one long hot streak....LadyKillers being the weakspot for me, and even that I enjoyed a bit.

I rewatched this last night after this debate reminded me of it. Pissed myself laughing. It does taper off towards the end though (after Pitt's final scene) and there are only a couple of laughs in the last third mainly provided by JK Simmons, but still a cracking film in my opinion. As for sympathetic characters, there is one in Burn Without Reading and he is the one who comes off the worst at the end.

I enjoyed True Grit. In fact, I liked it more than No Country for Old Men and A Serious Man. I've got a serious hard on for the Coen Brothers, I love their work... such rich characters.

I enjoyed Burn After Reading even if it did fizzle out at the end but I found True Grit to be seriously dull.

Working my way through Coen brother films recently. Big fan of Burn After Reading and various others. The only one I've disliked so far has been A Serious Man.
