Bundesliga 2016/17

The stupidness of the DFB and DFL, what kind of an idea is this, to let play Bayern against Bremen in the first match? I think, they just closed/shut down their section "Auslandsvermarktung" right in this moment.

It's not like we didn't trash you 5-1 either last Hinrunde

Barca/Madrid will win la liga it says something about the quality of the other teams when you know the winners of months worth of football based on 1 match.

Might also have something to do with Barca/Real/Bayern shitting from bigger heights than the elite of your league.
But I have to admit, I was deeply impressed with the performance of West Ham in Romania. Such a display of class...

True but la liga is also one sided as hell Bayern will win bundesliga again it's obvious

Well you have to be quite the "expert" to decide a whole league based on one match against the joke of a team that is Bremen currently.

I have to agree with Slig here. It may be a bit cpt hindsight, but letting Bayern open up the season against quite possibly the worst defense in the league was not a good decision from a marketing pov.

PL fanboys flocking to the Bundesliga thread to declare the league over and boring because Bayern have won the first game. Makes a lot of sense. Also, an abundance of imagination, intelligence, originality and wit. Thumbs up!

The problem is acute in Bundesliga, at least La Liga has Real and Atletico as a counter-balance. Bayern have no competition, and just buy out the best players in the league.

Yet Leicester bagged the PL earlier than us...

No doubt. My anger is at Bremen. Imagine being a fan of a club that loses 6-0 on the first day?

The fans will be a lot more pissed about the cup exit against a 3rd division team last week. They have a manager who is clearly out of his depth, but for whatever reason his job is secure. Should've just ended it after the terrible last season, if they sack him in a few months it might be too late.

Not that you mind, I reckon

Utterly bizarre performance by Bremen. So what if you're a crap team with an injury crisis, fight for each other, close them down, show some balls ffs. Don't just stand off and let Bayern walk and pass through you at will. Bremen came to be slaughtered - and Bayern obliged.

Also, please stop the 'my league is better than yours' pissing contest, it's worse than pointless and makes this thread a chore to read.

I am not really a PL fanboy but I believe it's true that BL will be pretty boring this year too. Only hope for other teams(Dortmund) is that Ancelotti isn't really greatest manager in terms of league competitions, and that Bayern will probably do anything to win CL this year, even if it means resting players in important matches in BL, IMO.

Joke of a league
Is the premier league the only competitive league left in football now

Of course is a league with so many sugar daddys which can use unlimited amounts of money more competitive than a league where all clubs are actually working very hard for their money.

Without the likes of Abramovic and the Sheiks of City, United would probably be as dominant in England with Arsenal beeing the Dortmundesque challenger.

Well yeah i can life with a league where other teams are more dominant than others, as long as its not plastique. Besides this all, i think Bayern would dominate the BPL aswell.

They were running, they just don't have any cohesion or organization. Skripnik is a useless tool. If they want to have chance of staying in, they need to sack him quickly.

On a more serious note, Bremen never showed up. Gave up at kick-off.

I'm not having a go at Bayern. Why would I? My anger is at Bremen.

They have been evading relegation over the past 3 seasons through sheer miracle. They concede 65 goals(in 34 games) a season on average. You were ill-informed to expect anything else from them.

come on Cristiano, the title is done and dusted already. Nobody in Germany seriously debating about that. Excitement only in terms of relegation and who makes it to the CL

Obviously not, but as a Hamburg supporter I know exactly what it's like being an absolute joke of a club. It's not like we're doing much better even now. But really this "Werder family" business is just inexplicable. And for a club like Bremen, who are heavily reliant on transfer income, I have no idea why they signed so many "has beens" with the funds this summer window. Who's going to bring them a lot of money in the next few years?

Bayern fans on a Man United forum complaining about fans of the Premier League in their thread. Can't make this shit up.

Bremen didn't care. Simple as that - For them their season starts with their next match. This was the case before the match kicked off.

Although I think Dortmund will run Bayern close this season, and possibly beat them to the title.

It won't be the walkover some are predicting.

However once again this match confirms for me that Muller must be the most overrated player in the Bundesliga.

Sure, they ran around a bit, but that wasn't the point I was making. They were rarely even close enough to get tackles in, just look at the 3-0 and how much space Müller was afforded on the right. They collected their first yellow card five minutes before the end of the game. And as you said, their organisation was non-existent. Just an utterly disgraceful performance all-around.

On a more serious note, perfect start for Carlo. Although I backed Dortmund to win the league, I would like to see Ancelotti prove his league doubters wrong.

Not sure, what you're talking about. What I see is Utd fans starting trash-talking our league based on this game.

This does not need to turn into a league vs league thread. You guys can create another thread to have a go at the Bundesliga.

Bayern showed that they are still hungry, or? Because that is the biggest problem teams like this have. And that might be the difference to some other teams...

How are dortmund looking anyway?
Will they adjust fast enough or be good enough to put up a challenge?

That result has provided the juvenile "my league is better than yours" willy wavers all the ammunition they need. No one who follows or supports the Bundeliga should be bothered by this.

Sure Bayern are dominant - They are a great team, that's why.

However, over the past ten years there have been four different winners of the EPL and four different winners of the Bundesliga.

I think also that the Bundesliga should move beyond the title holders opening the season as there are better matches this weekend that Bayern v Bremen. I've seen Bayern kick off the last few seasons and not really enjoyed any of the matches.

I love the irony of this post...it's Bayern that benefit from the wide-spread mediocrity of their league 'rivals'. You can be sure who would be most vocal if the rules were changed to allow foreign owners to buy up clubs in Germany...

It's a terrible thing to have owners. PL clubs are literally being owned by the global financial industry. Glad our clubs have members who have a vote and thus fans who have a voice.

The blessings of wide-spread mediocrity...
Please, don't be so arrogant, it's not polite.

Now, the Bundesliga is obviously a dysfunctional, = mess of a league, but not because of today. Given the sheer mismatch between the two teams - wider than any that exists in England - a twatting was always on the cards.

It's the relentless and predictably large margin of points Bayern collection by May where it becomes dull and descends into a farce. They pounded a strong dortmund side 5-1 last season for instance.

It would be somewhat forgivable if Bayern were the best team in Europe perhaps.

(they're not, they get humiliated on a yearly basis, and will so this year, tee hee hee, ironically, it is because of the huge disparity they have domestically they become unstuck, but don't tell them that or they'll start thinking sense instead of their awful arrogance).

A belated attempt at keeping the thread on topic
For those who didn't see the goals
Look at the defending ffs

Why is it trash-talking?

Where else is there to discuss the merits and pitfalls of a one-team league but here?

If you think it's only United fans who believe Bayern are assured of the title, then you're naive.

Calling it a "SPL" isn't exactly respectful. Claiming it's a one team league, when Dortmund chased us longer than any PL team some low-budget squad like Leicester is also a bit weird. Our "SPL" outperformed your league on an international level for quite some time, with a lot less ressources.
Yes, my club has been sominating things quite clearly in the past 4 years, like never before. We benefit from multiple generations of top-class hoemgrown talent, and some fantastic coaches in addition to our wealth. That doesn't take anything away from the fact that our league still offers some high-quality football aside from us being one of the 3 best teams in the world.
That smug attitude of some of you guys trying to sell your league as oh so superior, implying only your league has football worth watching when you have little to back that up other than insane budgets is a little tiring.
And let's have a look how many teams are truly going to compete for the PL this season. My bet: It'll be 2.

Can't see Dortmund challenging Bayern for the title this year with Hummels, Gundogan and Mkhitaryan all leaving.

One team league

Funny how this nonsense is told again and again like a broken clockwork. Last year every single German team apart from Bayern got kicked out by a PL team....i think we have to have another 3 PL teams in the semis, before most Germans get it, that PL has better results international. And even then they would go on about the "meaningful" Europa League...

Just saw Neuer's blunder, it's quite incredible how many times he gets away with clear fouls and dangerous pieces of play. Raising his studs so high making players scared to even attempt going for the ball should be clear red card, and that's his trademark.

Yeah, that coefficient table must be a result of dice rolls. That Dortmund thrashed Tottenham and lost the game against Pool more instead of them winning it, is also something you seem to have forgotten.
