This is probably just a lot of press rumours. Maddison would probably be preferred if we were to sign a similar type of player and he would probably be a cheaper option.

I 100 percent dont think maddison would be cheaper. I think they would be about the same.
Walker yes, no Mendy. Mendy was used as a wingback and Walker play as RCB and Sane is out, there's no place for Sane if Mendy is fully fit.
We don't have an actual winger to play the system with fullback close to the DM, Bruno and Pogba freely roaming like City's midfield.
I'd rather Maddison tbh.

Rashford and Lingard are two of the best players in the league at pulling defences apart. Unfortunately, their finishing and movement in the box is not quite good enough at the moment. That's not the end of the world, though.
As the Drogba/Lampard dynamic showed, it's only really necessary to have opponent disruption, good box movement, decent link up play and quality finishing for an attack to be effective. How those skills are split between midfielders/forwards/wingers is irrelevant. Our problem is that our attack is very good at everything apart from the finishing. Signing Maddison would be like putting a hat on a hat.

People saying that you can't fit Bruno and Pogba into the same midfield are forgetting that having only one creative midfielder in the side makes it so easy for teams to nullify us.
All our good stuff from midfield comes through Pogba, take him out of the equation and we run out of ideas. Having two creative outlays in the middle of the park would really help to open teams up. Will need a good holding midfielder with them though.

Hope things get moving with him now AWB is done, think both he and Longstaff would be great additions. Could still do with an out and out defensive midfielder but we don't seem to be after one so they'd have to do for now.

100% agree with this. Our issues with attack last year were that teams knew they could play narrow, ignore our RW, and double up on Pogba. Never mind if we should be able to fit the two in together, the fact is we have to have two creative in MF in order to create more threats and give the opposition more to think about.
It’s fine, to me it looks like he’ll be booked on the same flight as Gaitan and Sneijder.
Is Bruno a creative midfielder though? He’s not someone I’ve seen a lot of but he doesn’t really look all that creative from what I’ve seen. Scores goals great, wicked free kick, and good long range but can’t say I’ve seen him create that much or control games with smart or incisive passing.
Just doesn’t seem like he’d be the right choice for us unless it’s a Pogba back up or we are shifting to a mid diamond or vastly improve the DM position.

City manage De Bruyne and Silva in a midfield 3 and I’d say both were 10’s so I don’t buy into the ‘Pogba and Fernandes can’t play together’ thing. I fully agree though about needing a quality out and out defensive midfielder to play between them, I don’t think Matic has the legs to do that job although a quality new centre back added to Wan-Bissaka makes us a lot more solid at the back.
