13 goals in 22 games this season.

That's incredible for any non-striker.

I would prefer it to be a loan with an option to buy, then maybe we will not use the option as Maddison or Grealish would become available...

I've seen Bruno live this season against RBK. i was visiting friends in Trondheim so took the opportunity to watch an EL game. Pretty dominant performance by Bruno Fernandes, scored the 2nd goal.

RBK is such a bad team though compared to the PL counterparts so I'm not sure you can take so much from it.

Back to is he better than what we have?

Even if the deal is agreed this week don't expect it to be announced until next monday. Reckon Ed will want something to take the heat off the result of Sunday's game.

Thinking about conspiracy theories, we'l have Liverpool soon and that's likely to be a defeat that will send the online fan base in the typical meltdown. Announcing a deal then might be the best thing to do for the mental health of some of our more emotional fans.

Wasn’t Ducker considered to be fairly reliable, not so long ago? Or have I made that up?

That's incredible for any non-striker.

Last year he had almost 30 goals and 20 assists in 48 appearances, he's been one of the most productive playmakers in Europe over the last 2 years since joining Sporting.

His age at 25 makes him an exciting target given that he has the potential to get even better.

Really hope we manage to seal this, I remember Spurs and Scouser fans being quite excited over him when he was linked with them last summer.

Then we might have to pay a big slice of his wages to get this deal done. What do you think.

Could be. I've no idea whether they're actually interested in Rojo, though. But if they are, and the deal as such hinges on his wage demands - then I suppose we just have to pay a slice of 'em, yes.

Rojo belongs to a certain category of player we have too many of, i.e. players who should be moved on but who are on wages most realistic buying clubs will be very reluctant to match. Our own fault for putting ourselves in that position - but it is what it is.

Put it like this: if Bruno is worth pursuing as such, he's probably worth an extra slice of cash (to make up for Rojo's demands) too. We're not talking about insane amounts here - Bruno is supposedly on something like 50k p/w (he's their best paid player), so we can very comfortably upgrade that significantly and still dish out what's required for a (possible) partly subsidized Rojo deal without going broke.

The big clubs from Portugal have amazing connections to European journos. Time and time again drumming up fake interest in their mediocre players.

I remember the days when the club would announce a transfer completely out the blue. Now you have to put up with a stream of tedious non-stories saying the same thing over and over through an agonizing wait for any kind of official confirmation. This will rumble on until the end of the month.
