Dude at least read the article, they have broken down everything from papers to interviews and how the numbers are changed.

They are just translators, they don't report any news as their own unless they get some interviews from one of those agents. They wrote that article, so it is made up by them which includes various reports from Portuguese media, consistent numbers, how Sporting owner interview was twisted, how Fletcher didn't even know basic numbers and how Spurs bid that was rejected was twisted into "price for Spurs was 45 million + addons".

Like I said, you won't change the mind as you are too much into "Tier 1" thing, so good luck believing all the propaganda nonsense by Woodward.

I had read the article, stop trying to defend yourself with lame excuse by blaming me not reading the article. Do you even know the point of that article?

Spurs bid was last summer!! You can’t use that as an excuse saying that Sporting will want the same fees 5-6 months later (now) as how much they would accept in the last summer. Do you not think Sporting Lisbon would like to increase their fees because it’s January transfer? Do you not think that by increasing it to 80m euro, it could be their strategy to push the buyer to get closed to their original aim which was 65m or 70m euro?

Yeah, And we were PLANNING to make a move on them.

We were never in a million miles getting these players. We can keep planning and preparing a bid.

VVD was tapped up by Liverpool from a while before signing for them, why would he change his mind.

It just shows fans are so naive, just because other clubs are not in for the players, they are what not good?

How many teams were in for Son before he signed for Spurs?
How many were after KDB, Bernado, Robertson?

OK *facepalm*

That was meant to be a joke mate. Seems we always make that excuse.

What about you answer my questions then you will know that you actually facepalm to yourself.

I have already answered them many times, it wasn't even tough to find that. "Portuguese media was always consistent with numbers" was the hint, it was when Woody did his usual tricks, he briefed how Sporting wanted huge money for the player.

It's so transparent and also unbelievable that people can't see that.

I know, but this is what I am saying, we keep as fans make excuses.

Not directly you, but the poster who said why isn't anyone else after him.

Mate everyone is spelling it out clearly to you what you're wrong about and you continue to double down on it, maybe just realise you're barking up the wrong tree.

What am I wrong? I am wrong just because I don’t believe to an article that criticised Ed Woodward? Well, that’s ridiculous isn’t it.

Tell me, do you not think Sporting Lisbon has a reason to increase their price 5 months later?

Your answer doesn’t even related to my questions. It’s a yes and no question.

They haven't, that's what is reported by their media and they are consistent, not like English media who all of a sudden started reporting "OMG, Sporting wants 80 million" when the deal didn't happen. I mean it's so obvious and transparent.

I'll be annoyed even if this goes through. Why delay if both parties are not far from being satisfied anyway? Pointless time wasting.

The pressure and expectation on this lads shoulders if he comes  if he's not averaging a goal or assist every game there's going to be a shit storm all over the internet. Totally unfair really, but its both clubs fault.

5 million pounds or even euroes are actually quite a lot for some clubs. To put it in perspective the transfer record in the danish league is around 10 million pounds. So if Sporting are in financial problems 5 million could mean a lot to them. They might never get another Fernandes deal again.

Jesus if Woody sees this, he will set up camp in Denmark.

The thing you fail to understand here is that Sportwitness used a quote from “September’’ of the reason why they rejected Spurs offer to indicate that they haven’t increase their price up until now.

It’s questionable because they have zero quote from Sporting’s representatives in January. All they did was connecting the BBC quote from January to Sporting‘s representative quote from September. It’s two different timeline!

Sporting have NEVER moved the price they are asking for Bruno Fernandes! Manchester Utd don't want to pay the price quoted so it should finish there. But with this club it doesn't because its penny pinching, and trying to look like its doing something to appease pea brain fans.
The price is reasonable for his current stats. The figures being banded about keep getting mixed up because of the euro/pound mix up.

Where have UtdReport lifted this quote from? I can't find where it says a deal is "likely" on the Sky website.

Its a odd situation where I dont think the pressure is necessarily on Fernandes but more so on the financial issues regarding Sporting and the pressure on United to not look like they're embarrassingly incompetent.

Based on what makes you think Sporting hasn’t increase the price? Based on a quote that came from September?

February’s starting trio is going to be Fred Matic and Pereira isn’t it. If nothing else I’d like a new person in the changing room just to get a smile up in the place.

They need the money thats why they wont change the price. Its a situation where he is worth the amount which they want but Utd know they need the money so they are offering lower amounts.
He will soon be offered to other clubs if Utd don't buy.

The best outcome in negotiations is when both parties are a little bit dissatisfied. This is basic.

Seems like both parties want to come out feeling positive and neither are willing to budge.

So based on “they need money”. Do you not think that by increasing it to 80m euro, it could be their strategy to push the buyer to get closed to their original demand (65m-70m) because that‘s the amount of money they need?

Then this problem will not be solved.

Actually the basic is that the better outcome is when both parties are happy.

No doesn't work like that. And in my opinion if they balance their books by selling someone else then that will be the end of it because the price probably would go up (remember Persic).

Think it was a report from James Cooper on the channel, so no direct article as of yet.

It doesn’t mean Sporting won’t change the price in January as a strategy so the buyer won’t be stingy like Spurs was.

So it took you two posts to answer yes and no question.

Clubs had done this type of strategy before. They know if they told the club that they want 80m means you just need to increase the price to get closer to it. This happened last summer when we bid 70m on Maguire, the news said Leicester rejected the offer because they wanted 90m and we increased it to 80 and it’s all wrapped up.
