I think we're still interested but we're clearly trying to get the best possible deal -- which is fine, but we should also know that Sporting are in the position to negotiate, despite their financial difficulties. Whereas we need midfield reinforcements badly and every man and his dog knows we have money, since Woodward decided to tell investors about our financial prowess in the market.
 
Going to score a hat-trick, increasing his sale value by £5mil only for Woodward to scoff at and say theres no value in the market!
 
Waiting until the literal last-minute, then will send over paperwork via encrypted pdf that Portuguese league officials can't open. Best of both wolds for Woody as he can shift the blame and not have to spend anything.

I’d guess they’d know we have money regardless of what he says to be honest

Whilst we dilly-dally, this is the perfect opportunity for another club to swoop in and hijack the transfer.
 
Only us wouldn’t be able to get a deal over the line. But in all honesty what are Sporting playing at. I don’t care how much United spend but I’m fully aware every club has a budget.

Am I wasting time watching Lisbon derby at 3:15 am just to see the guy who will never come? Going to ban myself from transfer threads if the deal fails. transfer threads watch ban for 2 transfer windows
 
Just seen somebody predict that they'll save the signing for Monday to kill the unhappiness at losing to Liverpool and change the negative press.

Really good shout actually, can definitely see that happening.
