I think there's an overreaction here: he actually did an overall positive game, if you compare him with the rest of the players on the pitch.

Best player on the pitch to me, despite having an off game he created a lot and had moments of pure class. To me he seems like the next De Bruyne level player. Someone who can create something out of nothing and be the missing piece to any team, even on an off day.

He was OK but he has set higher standards for himself. Still created half a dozen really good moments for the team.

His quality is undeniable. Always manages to find space to work in when he's on the ball and he always tries to make things happen. Never stops running either. Even if he was slightly off today (and some of the blame for that lies on Lingard and Mata being about as useful as two cock-flavoured lollipops) you can always see how good he is.

I just love his attitude. Always creates and is so sharp up there, but the work rate and stamina is insane. Plays 90 minutes every game, 120 mins today and is busting a gut to get back to our own byline to see the ball out. You just love to see it.

I thought he played well. Until Pogba came on he was the only player who looked remotely like creating anything.

He made a couple of great darting runs in behind (Fred just misplaced that pass early in the second half). His flick that led to the red card was the decisive moment of the game.

The key for United is to give him targets. Igalho was poor today and his movement was non existent. Greenwood should have started on the right for more firepower.

The biggest concern is that he played 120 minutes and was shattered by the end. That could be costly for the Brighton game.

This guy is just freaking awesome!

That tackle near our touchline, he's great today but yeah, not a "perfect" nor great performance, but meh who cares, top level effort consistently full 90+ mins. Waves of trying after trying after trying. Mistakes doesn't bother him.

Btw, signs of fatigue???

What an engine this lad has gone. Id be interested to know how many kilometers he covered.

As for performance, it was easily his worst since joining. Not very good at all. That being said, he still contributed to the best moments in the game for us.

By his high standard he was having an off night, but he was forced to create the chance to win the game by himself, which resulted in taking more than usual risky pass that didn't pan out, and being surrounded by Lingard and Mata didn't help.

He should have been subbed and Fred should have stayed, because we badly need him for the coming PL games and our top 4 chance.

Did anybody see he was to tired to take the corner in extra time and let Rashford took it?

Still amazed at how fit and determined the guy is.

he’s played 120 minutes and he’s sprinting after the ball to chase down a Norwich counter  unbelievable desire and will to win. That’ll spread to the team like a real virus ;)

Many saying he had an off day but still stood out as the best player on the pitch imo. Amazing passion, desire, energy and most of all talent. he has the quickest footballing brain I've seen Since... ever

Blatantly clear he needs a rest but that is not going to happen anytime soon as the games are coming thick and fast.

Still, you take Bruno and Pogba out of this side and though Fred,McTom and Matic are good players their games are predominantly focused on stopping the opposition rather than creating something offensive. In short,we need more creative quality in the side.

Sometimes I think people just criticise for the sake of it. Every game Bruno plays he creates meaningful chances and produces moments of brilliance. He’s magic. Enjoy him.

Agree he is a machine

Im not being funny but this forum is obsessed with resting players and seeing tiredness behind every bush.
He had 3 months off, had his 3rd game back after a walk on the beach v Sheff Utd.
This hasn't been a taxing return. He just had an off day.

Even though it was his worst performance he was still our 5th best player yesterday, doesn’t helps that he was playing with Mata & Lingard who are championship standard, they wouldn’t even start for Norwich over Cantwell and Buendia

Nah. If we rest him then we won’t win enough games. We need to play him and Pogba in every game and hope that they do the business inside 70 minutes before getting them off. It’s the only way.
We need to make sure at least one of them are starting in every game, but both need to have the occasional rest. Pogba has only started one of the three games so far so is hopefully ready to get a run of starts, as I expect we'll give Bruno a game off soon.

He's deceptively quick tbf to him. Quicker than i thought he was.
Pretty sure the leaked training data had fernandes as the highest top speed which also surprised me. He’s obviously a little slower off the mark but when he gets going he flys along

Agreed, Bruno is so fit he is probably having today to recover and be back fresh as a daisy tomorrow. He seems the type that loves playing also so I doubt he’d want to have a rest unless he really needed it.

his injury record is also very good, he just seems to have the body made for running.

Before we signed him I said he'd have a huge impact. Creative and with an insane engine. Exactly what we needed.

Stop acting like this was a guess. You just didn't know.

Btw I would have both at United.

I really like his flicks and tricks. Granted, they don't always work, but he doesn't lose the ball in dangerous areas and he does know when to delay a pass.

His flick pass to Ighalo led to the Red card for the Norwich player.

But i do wish he doesn't take all set piece duty and shares it with others. I some areas of the pitch, it would be better if Pogba or Rashford take the free kick or corner kicks.

Rashford and Pogba shouldn't be taking corners at all. They're much better off being in the box trying to get on the end of them

I said 'or" . What about free kicks? I reckon Pogba or Rashford would be great at them instead of Bruno hogging all of them.

I don't think he was that great yesterday and that's not knocking him. I think the more games we play with this team the more moves will come off BUT you can see his quality. Where you can have a poor game by your standards and yet produce a few moments of quality that impact the result certainly. His flick for the sending off way top drawer. Once we have a team that has threats from either side and once we have the pace in the team then it's easier for him but yesterday, especially in the first half we were understandably off the pace

As many has said I'd take his misplaced passes anytime of the week because he makes it up with quality and an absolutely insane work rate.

The one thing that he excels at, which probably no one else in the squad does is his ability to up the tempo forcibly and at his own will. He can take a slow and square pass into feet and turn it a ball for our attackers to run onto or create an opening with his quick feet and approach.

Pogba can do this as well obviously as he has the ability and probably does it more efficiently but in fairness to him doesn't do it as regularly because he doesn't have the platform too (i.e you can't be doing what Bruno does deep from midfield).

It's going to be an interesting partnership to watch because, whilst we have done well, I do fear teams that can defend really well against us, who can press us at the half way line and then turn that ball over. I've said Fred is my 3rd midfielder for situations like this as he has that fantastic work rate and coverage along with good passing instincts.

Gives the ball away loads which is part and parcel of always trying stuff so has to be accepted. His persistence always pays off as seen by the red card. Makes a nice balance In midfield. A Matic type who’s zero risk, Pogba A step up - more expansive and creative but always finds target - and then Fernandes.

Thought he was pretty good, was at the heart of almost everything we did create and there was a reason Ole didn't feel he could take him off. Some wank shots but tbh he doesn't look like he's found his range with his shooting in any game really so far to me. Don't really have a problem with a player being a bit greedy when nothing is happening in the game and his wingers might as well be training cones.

Might have to be on the bench on Tuesday and Pogba to start instead as a creative force. Saying all tht even though he had a generally bad game he was trying to make something the whole game. He overdid it with lots of shots and misslplaced places but what is good is he still tried to shoot instead of just passing it around.
Other thing I like he's always looking for a forward pass whatever position he's in and lots of fist time touches, no dilly dallying on the ball when its not usfeul. His technique is fantastic and he's a joy to watch.
He reminds me of Prosinečki, you always got the feeling watching him he's walking or is in a slow pace but he always had his rythm and was always in the thick of things. One minute he's organizing our play the other he's running to the defense in the 115th minute.
He came to United and the league with the I'll do it here attitude and like he's been here 100 years. Love it.

Totally agree. He’s fecking brilliant, who cares if he has better games sometimes or loses the ball sometimes, he’s magic. Just enjoy him.

Do we have any stats about the possession lost or misplaced passes ? I get the argument, he is trying to make things happen but come on, he is not the first creative player to play this game. For.e.g. I mean ,.there is also KDB of city and he also try to make things happen. So do we have any stats to compare them ?

Different teams, different roles. United have a team with very few creative passers. 0 creativity from fullbacks or deeper mids, so it lies on just him or Pogba. His style of always trying to be creative suits us, as we are very secure defensively, so we need his risk taking. The stats don't really matter in terms of losses, what matters is his creativity is up there with the best in the league. Different styles will have different losses.
