Sorry chum, but Terrell Davis carried the Bronco's to the SB in 98 and 99. Elways was along for the ride.
Favre will go down in history as one of the two greatest QB's to ever play the game. Elway is top 5, top 10.
Even when GB was complete shit, GB was in playoff contention all but one season. The Bronco's were shit with or without Elway until they got Davis.
Top 2? I'd strongly disagree. I'd certainly take Montana or Marino over him. Possibly Elway. Manning and Brady and probably Roethlisberger will certainly enter the debate once their careers are over. To me the debate is a bit pointless since we're talking about different players, different styles, different teams, and different eras anyways.
It makes more sense to group them into tiers and I could certainly see him in the top 10, maybe even the top 5, but top 2 is definitely pushing it for me.
Also smooth move by Brad Childress sending out his newly signed, aging starting quarterback, with a recently repaired shoulder and supposedly a cracked rib, to line up as a wide receiver in the wildcat. The illegal crackback block and the injury that resulted only made it even more idiotic. If the Favre experiment doesn't work out he should damn well be fired.
Boo to Brad Childress, Favre, and the wildcat. Hopefully all three will be gone from the league within a few years.
