Is he having a fecking joke or what?
Understatement of the year.
Tarnishing his reputation and place in history in my opinion.
I'm a Packer fan since birth, some of my earliest pictures are wearing Packer PJ's.
I can understand him wanting to continue playing beyond GB wanting him. I cannot understand him wanting to play for the Viqueens. This would be like Gerrard forcing Liverpool to trade him to United, or Neville forcing United to trade him to Liverpool. It is an unthinkable affront to the fans. At the end of the day, it is the fans who cement your place as an all time great, and pissing on the loyal fans that supported you for 16 years is just completely unfathomable.
If he goes to the Vikings, GB better no retire his number, and he better not be inducted into their hall of fame.
Egotistical drama queen. The fact he is so determined to play for the Vikings in front of his loyal fans at Lambeau Field tells you all you need to know. Childress has a lot riding on this if it goes through and I can see him going the same way as Ratgini if Favre has another mental or physical breakdown - which is likely. I doubt Favre will be willing to take a back seat, throw 15 times a game and feed the ball to Peterson and Taylor all day, his natural urge is to throw the ball into triple coverage. We will see, again, I suppose.
I agree but I need to call a bluff on the last part... he will be in the hall, and he will enter the hall a Packer... the move to the Jets seemed to be accepted by many in the Packers fanbase because it was a) him continuing his football career, and b) giving the Pack a chance to start and develop Aaron Rodgers, who's waiting in the wings foor many years.
Green Bay will have quite the decision to make in regards to his number though, once thought to be an automatic entry into the clubs elite historical players has now taken a silly little turn for the worse.
It's a big step BACK for the Vikings... as ineffective as Tavares Jackson has been, he's not that bad, and needs time to continue to develop: ye's still only 26 and he showed towards the end of last year he can be an efficient player with a consistant offensive line.
Obviously he is going into THE hall of fame. I meant the PACKER hall of fame if he plays for the Vikings, he shouldn't get into their hall of fame, or have his number retired.

That's pretty ridiculous. This guy was your best player, maybe ever, and won you two championships. You disown him just because he'll go and waste a rival team's money and time? I'd immediately honor him for that.
Hope it goes through. Imagine the scenario next year....
Vikings - Favre
Packers - Rogers
Lions - Stafford
Bears - Cutler
Thats gonna be one hell of a primetime division!
Probably wasnt best to go shopping for a new QB. For what its worth, I think Matt Cassel would have been an improvement on Cutler, but not enough to warrant what happened. Despite all that though, Cutler handled it all like - for want of a better description - a sissy little bitch. Broncos got a hell of a deal for him, but made some terrible decisions with the draft picks they got.
I didn't know Josh McDaniels was a member of the caf.
Come on, Cassel put up very good numbers last year but they were for the same team the set all the records the year before.
And you just showed the amateur that you are EC, the Broncos didnt get that good of a deal in this day and with the prices of 1st round unproven draft picks, hell they even had to trade one of them, a franchise QB means a lot. Look at what the Broncos did with Elway 5 SBs in 18 years, 2 wins, 2-0 once they got TD, or any running game for that matter, although it was TD who was the MVP for the first one. WHen you factor it in he needs to be a HOF just like Elway imo.
This McDaniels is a twat, you know I wouldnt mind if it was Belichek coming in here pulling this shit, even though I hate him, because I respect him as a great coach and master of personnel, McDaniels has no fecking idea what he is doing.
For you who called Cutler a baby, how would Rooney act if he was a make weight or a straight up in a deal for Ribery or Benzema...that's what I thought.

One final feck you to the Packers. Those games will be great next year though.

That game at Lambeau will be beastly !
Favre seems to have placed himself above GB the last few years and finally got his desire to leave last summer. I still find him the most overrated QB of the last twenty years, perhaps all-time (although that may still be Namath). Granted Favre was a top QB at his peak but I'd take Aikman, Elway, and Young over him anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. And he's nowhere near the level of Brady and P Manning over the last decade. Still a quality QB but I hope Vikings fans aren't expecting Super Bowl aspirations because I just don't see it happening with or without Favre.
Favre is unquestionably one of the greatest QB's of all time easily in the top 5.
Part of why Favre is so beloved by people all over is the child like exuberance he plays the game with. He completes a long pass, he goes bonkers. He throws a TD, he goes bonkers. Favre will run down field and try to make a tackle, he would try to throw a lead block whenever he could.
It reminds them that not everyone in the NFL is playing to just get paid. Favre has a genuine love affair with Football.
When you compare Favre to other all time great QB's you need to also remember that the first half of the 2000's GB was a DIRE, DIRE team offensively. They had no weapons. It was Favre and Favre only. With Holmgren gone, who kept a tight leash on Favre, Favre got crazy, risky and out of control while trying to win games literally by himself. He started throwing lots of INTS then and it has only continued as no coach out there during that period was comfortable I don't think telling Brett to reign it in.
If you put Favre on the Bronco's in place of Elway, or Favre on the 49'ers in place of Montana, he is going to throw far less int's, neither Elway or Montana played for teams as bad as the early 2000's Packers.
The word novice springs to mind as does idiot. Elway played with some shit teams, and drug them himself to three superbowls once he got a decent running back, bam 2 SuperBowl wins.

The way players swap teams in the NFL im amazed this is even news.
