Breaking News: Freddie Flintoff to retire from cricket

A two day old news yet its shocking no one has ever bothered to start a thread on his farewell series.

At best he would be remembered as a small time cricketer that punched above his weight and was successful to some extent.

How do you lot rate him?

On his day they're was no one better. Lethal Bowling and a good a few runs to boot. You obviously have been watching Badminton and got it confused with cricket. For shame.

On his day there were plenty better, still a good cricketer though. One of England's best during the last decade or so.

Umm...

That's because you're an idiot.

A man's man is Freddie, and it's going to be a HUGE loss to the sport. Only one man would get pissed and sail a boat out into the ocean and miss matches, only big Freddie!

On his day...theres not to many better all rounders?

The post I quoted didn't say that now did it?

Speaking of all rounders, I'd take Kallis over him thank you very much.

Agreed,

Was a good cricketer, nothing more...

He's a very good bowler. One of the top 3 bowlers in the world today.

Dale Steyn

Mitchell Johnson

Brett Lee

Vaas

Zaheer Khan

Ntini

Malinga

You don't watch a lot of cricket these days, do you?

Vaas, Malinga, Ntini ffs.

Johnson, yes. Lee hasn't bowled well in a long time, could be better but right now isn't.

Zaheer's a very intelligent bowler but he is not as good as Flintoff bowling at his best like he did today.

Steyn, yes.

 johnson isn't in the same league, the others are but johnson is nowhere near that level

I can't believe the amount of crap that gets spouted on here. The others barring Steyn are nowhere near. Johnson is the only one whose mention on that list is not arguable.

Vaas and Ntini are much much better than Flintoff mate!
Sorry will just have to disagree on that, but they're a class above Flintoff....

I'd have Zaheer in my side over Freddie..

Don't get me wrong. Flintoff is a good cricketer, and a good all - rounder, just highly over-rated in my opinion..

Yes, because getting out the likes of Hauritz and Siddle clearly changes everything.

Freddie has been bowling 90 mph + constantly throughout the test and got five wickets. Why does it matter who he bowled out? He still has five wickets to his name and bowled sensationally, even Shane Warne was giving him a lot of praise. You absolute dick head!

Brett Lee, up until his injuries last season, was the best bowler in cricket. Australia will be a new team if he's fit for the 3rd test and I doubt England will be able to get back in if he hits form. He will rip you a new one.

I'm not English.

And I agree, Lee was great till his injuries. But it's been a long time. He didn't have a good tour of India but he was playing with his injury back then and he was ineffective against South Africa at home.

Bollocks. He's an old man who can't hit 90 mph now. He's useless and to be honest I'd rather Lee be in the Aussie team than have Johnson bowling at us. Johnson is the better bowler but I reckon he will be dropped for Lee which is good for us English!

Brett Lee is like Harry Kewell

I never said he wasn't a fantastic cricketer and didn't bowl a great match you complete cockhead. But he's nowhere near as good as the wankers like you think he is.

Can't agree with that its your opinion and others but he was as good as most players on his day.

England are completely fecked when he goes. Fact.

No...He has lost his desire in playing cricket and if England persist with him it would end up as a burden over a period of time. Cricketers that aint retarded usually call it a day from one day and 20-20 whilst they continue their test run for Freddie its the other way around.

Johnson's pretty rubbish (but he somehow dicks wickets). Lee's finished.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and Flintoff's a champion. And anyone who doesn't love him needs their head checked.
