Could this be the game we go back to the pre-season plan of Mainoo, Mount and Bruno?

Excited to see this match as I want to see how Iraola would do for us if he becomes United manager. Bournemouth have showed they have substance and purpose. They press better than United ever did.

I can't quite picture INEOS sacking Ten Hag, not having Nagelsmann, De Zerbi or another guy in mind and appointing someone young and ambitious on a 2 year contract and then re-evaluating after a season, but if they're set on firing Ten Hag and then it's Potter, Southgate or another plan D or E option on a shorter deal, Iraola should probably be near the top of that list.

Not sure he could turn down having a shot at managing United here. If he fails, he can always go back to Spain. Valverde is 60, but even if the Bilbao job doesn't become available, you'd think Iraola is right in line for a Sevilla/Villarreal/Sociedad/Betis 2nd tier La Liga job or maybe a big Serie A or Ligue 1 job. And if he succeeds, he's got the United job and probably just needs to improve us a bit year on year to keep it.

He makes some sense as a short-term option in that he's played a 4-2-3-1 with little size in midfield (relying more on mobility and a co-ordinated press) so it should suit our midfield personnel and wingers okay, and we need a RCB with some pace. Would be a less drastic change from Ten Hag ball to say De Zerbi, but maybe some of the same problems if we don't sign a defensive midfielder who can run and a fast CB, but it's impossible to imagine those not being 2 of the summer signings (along with a backup striker, after that I think it gets debatable but those 3 spots are absolute necessities).

Probably won't happen because INEOS know Potter and Southgate or can get Nagelsmann or De Zerbi, but it's arguably the best move on the board if we can't get one of those 2 and don't have an out of the blue hire in mind (Michel? Inzaghi? Xavi?). Probably a bit cleaner tactically than bringing in Potter, so I think the floor is pretty high with the move.

    I’ll include the link
    https://www.spotrac.com/epl/afc-bournemouth/alex-scott-85801/

They have the left back and Max Arons on the same type deal maybe it was for PSR
Could be a rolling contract ?

If Scott it was a one year deal ( which he obviously isnt ) then AFC would have loaded £25 million onto their charge to amortisation. From a PSR perspective that would be crazy

It goes to prove the point as to it’s best to rely on information from official sources such as the club itself rather than the press or second rate web sites and Sportsrac are clearly one of those totally unreliable ones

and yes Arons is on the same sort of deal

Bournemouth are favourites for the match. Probably correct but it just gets more and more embarrassing.

Win this one today and we should be ending the next 3 games with 9 pts. Sheff Utd and Burnley both at home after this one. Massive game this.

Ye it’s awful that we go into games against the likes of Bournemouth now as underdogs. This use to never be the case. Always use to go into every game as favourites.

Hopefully. Whilst it was only pre-season, they played really well together.

Had Mainoo been fit come the start of season, I believe he would have started against Wolves.

Hope for the same I hoped for vs Liverpool,
I know what the outcome of the season will be but to secure it would be ideal.

Seems we've been on the TV slots a bit too much lately, there was period where we weren't on much like we had fallen out of favour. Guess they thought we'd be in a top 4 run in.

They like to give everyone a good laugh. They’ve put us on for the neutrals, can guarantee over 30 shots a game when we’re playing.

Yes it's fill your boots time for teams playing United.

With the bookies odds, talk of the manager going and a reset at the club with Ineos I fear we could drop much further than 6th, could be quite a thing to televise.

Slightly surprised at the score predictions for this game. From looking at the chart, the overwhelming consensus is that we're going to win this. I think this is a typical game where we could lose quite comfortably.

I'm dreading just how open it's going to be and how many chances we're going to give away. Bournemouth move the ball well. We've got to be so much tighter in midfield and keep the ball. We treat it like a hot potato too much and want to get rid of it too easily.

Feels like we have a dozen players called Ethan in the youth setup . Anyone able to give some insight on how good he is and what type of player?
Tall striker. Puts in a shift. Not a particularly special talent, but he has become a bit more consistent in his finishing this season. Has some interesting attributes that could make him a good player potentially, but whether he puts them all together, who knows. Could grow into an Ellis Simms or Calvert-Lewin.

Big target man type striker. Works hard and has definitely improved this year. Not the best finisher, needs to get stronger, but he's a pretty good prospect

In fairness, if United don’t even qualify for Europa , there’s a very difficult defence for ETH.

I’m sick thinking of Forrest , Fulham and Chelsea defeats. That’s 9 points that has us well in the mix. No victory today and I think any goodwill left will start to plummet as 6th begins to look unlikely.

I'm edging towards the "Must Go" camp, despite being an ETH supporter all season, I'm running out of excuses to carry on supporting him.

Our bench is truly impressive today: Amass, Ogunneye, Forson, Wheatley all in the squad

No sign of Antony and Rashford was a late fitness pass, right? Still no Amad start. Sigh.
