Matic and Mata probably leaving soon
Matic's contract runs until July 2023 (he signed a 3 yr deal in July 2020), so unless we can find a buyer, he is here for the next 18 months.

There has supposedly been clubs sniffing around him like Roma and some others. Also been reports that he is open to leaving.Matic's contract runs until July 2023 (he signed a 3 yr deal in July 2020), so unless we can find a buyer, he is here for the next 18 months.

Worth posting for those asking what he's like
I don't like statman dave at all to be honest, his comparison to Kavin Phillps is a weird one as well considering how he described him as a completely different style of player - but in general he was correct in how he plays from what I've watched and the systems he plays in. This one felt a little more balanced though and wasn't painting him as the "answer to United's midfield problems".Whilst it looks interesting, I generally tread with caution with this guy because he makes any player look a bit revolutionary to a team in every video he does.

Would Kamara and Hannibal not suffice? That would leave us with Fred, McTominay, Kamara, and Hannibal for the two CM positions. Assuming we stick with a 4-2-2-2, we would then have Sancho, Bruno, Rashford, Elanga, and Diallo for the 2 attacking mid positions. We would only have Greenwood and Ronaldo upfront as proper strikers for two positions, so we'd need to recruit a striker. Sounds good to me, and very achievable. Depending on how Laird does, I'd also be looking to recruit a RB.He can play CB too so I think for the fee this makes a lot of sense from a squad building perspective - low risk with high potential. You’ve got to think Axel will be gone in the summer and I’d imagine Bailly will want more opportunities at some point. Definitely need another few CMs on top though if Pogba/Donny/Matic leave.
I don't think I've ever seen them cited as a source.72% chance according to transfermarkt, how reliable are they as a source?
Wouldn't pay them attention, agents usually pay them to hype up their clients etc72% chance according to transfermarkt, how reliable are they as a source?

Mo Cam and Bo Kam, I like your thinking.Let's sign him and Mo Camara, a Camara Kamara midfield....
Martial / Jesse / Pogba / Mata / Matic / Jones so many players on books taking millions with out contributing much !!
This should change as a start !

Christ. Welcome to the real world - we aren't signing 3 new midfielders, this isn't Football Manager. Why do people always say this shit? 'we need at least FOUR new attackers cos that's what YOONITED is all about'. It's not going to happen! No team ever signs 3 or 4 players for the same position in one window! Get over it!Two squad players, a young signing coming into a new league and an 18year old you are asking if that will suffice? This is Manchester United and oru midfielders ave been woeful for some time for someone that grew up with Robson, Ince, Keane, Butt, Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves even Anderson.
I think we needed to sign TWO midfielders in the summer, we DEFINATELY do before next season, I would argue maybe three with all the possible outgoings in central midfield.
Personally Fred isnt good enough, McTominay is no more than a squad player all be it a valuable one, Hannibal needs time and personally I feel in the short term at least we will possibly see him out wide or deputising in cup games or from the bench for Fernandes, not in the two midfield positions.
I mentioned Kamara as an obvious option in the summer as he was available it appeared for £10m then, surprised nobody went in for him and he could be a really astute signing but certainly not THE onyl signing there for me....so no it doesnt suffice for me
They're not really a primary source, but rather they try to grade what other outlets report and those numbers have been basically meaningless for years. 1 mention of a transfer from daily mail or express can easily bump up the chance to >50%.72% chance according to transfermarkt, how reliable are they as a source?
Seems a sone deal to United
The first RR signing
The only reliable person who said we have an interest is Ornstein and that's pretty much all he said about it. It's about as far from a certainty as you can get. By all accounts a deal for Haidara is more likely and even that's very iffy.Yeah I’m surprised more people aren’t jumping on this. I’d say this deal is pretty much a certainty. It’s more exciting for me to see the club looking to operate in a more shrewd manner. He looks an exciting prospect but obviously he could still majorly stall or regress but the price and profile is right. He doesn’t really press is the only issue I have with the signing. I’d also have preferred Camavinga or tchouameni as I think their ceiling is much higher but for a squad player or a defensive role player for a club looking to send out a message that they are tightening up then this makes almost total sense.

Liverpool has Thiago, Fabinho, Milner, Keita, Chamberlain, Henderson, Jones.Christ. Welcome to the real world - we aren't signing 3 new midfielders, this isn't Football Manager. Kamara will be a similar age to Fabinho when he joined Liverpool and Hannibal Mejbri will actually be 19 by next summer. We're also working on the assumption that VdB will definitely leave - why? If McTominay, Fred, Hannibal Mejbri, and Kamara (and VdB) isn't good enough for two positions then one of them needs to go. 5 or 6 players for 2 positions is ridiculous and we'll end up in a similar spot to where we are now, with a bloated squad with players on high wages not contributing and inevitably becoming a headache with leaks to the press from disgruntled agents.
Personally disagree that Fred isn't good enough. He's already shown more than enough to suggest he is good enough in a functional side with a clearly defined role in the first 11. How many CMs do City and Liverpool have, out of interest?
I highly doubt we will be buying any players while we have an interim manager but the media or these wanker youtubers won’t say that as it goes against their interests.
The only way this would happen is if we knew who the permanent manager would be and that is not the case.
We have a DOF in place, buying specific players for a specific manager is one of the reasons we have spent a billion pounds just to fight for top four.I highly doubt we will be buying any players while we have an interim manager but the media or these wanker youtubers won’t say that as it goes against their interests.

He's like a cheaper Kalvin Philips. They seem very similar in terms of play style - aggressive, loves a good ping out wide etc.
Phillips covers a lot more ground. As someone said on here - not sure who, he's more like a budget Fabinho. He's like a cheaper Kalvin Philips. They seem very similar in terms of play style - aggressive, loves a good ping out wide etc.
