Bob Marley

i like some of his stuff but he is entirely overrated
 
My fecking neighbor has him blaring out in the front garden all afternoon while he washes his car...

Crap... bland... no edge whatsoever
 
He isnt amazing, but at the time it was new, its very feel good, and he just wrote nice songs with a nice easy beat to it.

nothing i can see to criticise.
 
This is a seriously uneducated point to make, "no edge", unbelievable, I'll bet a pound to a penny that you are referring to the stuff on his 'best of' and you havent actually dug any deeper than that?

Check out Concrete Jungle or his early accapella stuff.

Best way to the atmosphere among friends-->when 1 of them decides that now it's the time to listen to Bob Marley.

It' not that I hate his music...could find myself listening to it once in a while, but there's something about it that is good-time-killing....ironic eh?

Survival, Exodus, catch a fire, uprising, Kaya are classic albums.
The beauty is in its Simplicity, and truth.
Marley practised what he preached.
my only problem with Marley's legacy is the fixation people have with his Marijuana consumption. Most of these halfwits only own "Legend" and seem to have totally missed the point in his music. And tend to focus only on the
Marijuana.

He's good, not amazing like he's hyped up to be, but he is good. He does have some songs that are quite good.

Really dying to see this movie but seems a lot of the UK cinemas aren't entertaining the thought of showing it :rolleyes:

Queens Film Theatre are showing it in Belfast.

I hope someone has a link to download this so i can report them to the powers that be! :angel:
 
Terrible thread. Marley is excellent. Reggae is the last truly original non dance music.

Mike hates reggae. But mike hates black people. Coincidence?
