I think that Guardiola, knowing well that the league is pretty much wrapped up in all aspects but mathematically, decided to test a weird formation and rest almost all starters, thinking "if we win, cool, if we don't, it's not the end of the world". Imagine if he played his starting XI against Chelsea and lost? This would be a huge psychological blow against City and advantage to Chelsea going into the CL final.
Still, this game is a good example that City's bench is not an amazing team that could win anything. Take out De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden and so on, City already significantly drops level. Sterling, Aguero and Jesus proved today that, right now, they deserve the bench. And Cancelo declined in recent games while Zinchenko grew and is playing better than Cancelo now.

You see, I was so nervous for last night.
Had we won the title on Sunday, I really feared our players would be distracted.

It's unbelievable how many of them are crying because Sterling didn't get his penalty, when he should have had a straight red earlier in the game. It's almost as baffling as some of them claiming the club is now self-sustained. Fielded their 500 m pound B-team today, Pep the genius has essentially thrown the game to not reveal his "CL-tactics" to Tuchel.
City have bought a seat at the big boys table and their 17 fans can’t handle it. The inferiority complex will eat away at them forever.

Now and again I read RAWK and United Cafe for a laugh and had lots of interactions with United and Liverpool fans the last 24 hours and you wouldn’t believe how many don’t care! They even tell you they don’t care just to ensure they don’t care. Twitter is the same as well apparently, it’s gone from constantly telling us how it’s all about money and then telling us they don’t care.
They even point out the fact that the trophies we win are hollow which is correct isn’t it? As far as I am aware they are all hollow but it’s all very strange how they only go on about that particular specification on the trophies and not what it is made out of.
Does anyone else have major self esteem issues that the success we enjoy is fake? I did not realise this to be the case and I feel I have been cheated in all the amazing memories created and shared with family and friends over the last 13 years has been one huge lie. It’s like being told the man you’ve called Dad all your life is not on your 18th birthday.
Just wondering if anyone would like to create a support group as until we get every United and Liverpool fan to care about our success, I cannot enjoy our success and there’s a lot of people to convince as so many care enough to tell us they don’t care.
I mean, I don’t really care about Emmerdale but i don’t repeatedly tell people I don’t care about Emmerdale as that would imply I do care.

Ive left out other games where we've dropped points because i know we cant win every game. However, Ive only mentioned the ones where we would have won if we bothered to turn up. We didn't drop points in these days because we were outclassed but because we couldn't be arsed to turn the heat up against sides fighting relegation.

Strange as on Sunday most of them were shouting about how we only did it to stop them winning the league.
for a start, in what way have we bottled it? We were never in a title race.
people throw that term around in here, and 99% of the time use it incorrectly, and as a term to beat up a particular team/ person/ manager. If we’ve bottled it this year, then every team in every season that didn’t win the league have ‘bottled it’. It’s perfectly acceptable to lose without attitude being called into question, which is exactly what you have done.
the evidence is in fact pointing to the exact opposite, a team willing to fight, that doesn’t know when it’s beaten, players whose heads to not go down when we are loosing.
United have shown that they have exactly the right attitude this year, we are however short in quality in a couple of key areas. That’s not bottling it, it’s just not being quite good enough.
Sort of, however there have been games this season where Utd haven't played well and won, so some of it is swings and roundabouts. Sheffield was probably the worst as they are dire. Also, if VAR had been doing their jobs properly in the Chelsea games both games would've been 1-0 to the away team rather than 0-0 which would've been and extra point. Those 4 points have been costly. Although if that was the case would City have fecked about with their line-ups against Leeds and Chelsea? Probably not.
Yeah, it is odd, Chelsea have also only played weakened versions against them also. I would also guess Kovacic starts against them as well.
Wonder if they'll accept that their teams isn't all that crash hot and the only reason they'll have any success this season is because they have a full second team that would arguably be a top 4 premier league side.

Coping mechanism. They simply dont want to admit the final is going to be a tough game, so by saying we only "just" beat their reserves, they can probably come out the usual "our first team will smash these, so im even more confident of winning now"
Ironically pre-match it was City's B team, at full time, it was suddenly their C- team
The main issue with bluemoon, besides the arrogance and bitterness, is they have got it into their heads that they simply are untouchable, and the greatest footballing side on the planet by some distance, and no one comes near them. And because of this, they cannot accept that another side can beat them, and be better than them on the day. Which is why whenever they lose, its always because of the ref, or a cheating player etc.
