Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

  That was worth a few laughs that one. I'm not too concerned about that performance because of the players that were missing, but I'm very concerned about the amount of players that actually were missing... none of our back line apart from our first choice left-back has had any game time during pre-season which is a huge concern. I expect a Fernandinho, Yaya, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko, Jovetic front 6 should be able to cause Newcastle a few problems - you'd hope.

Yeah, that was Fernando.

Prediction/ thoughts* for the season? Any worry of a repeat of 2012-13?

*Neutral and realistic.

That forum is a right fecking laugh. The "agenda" thread is well worth a bored 5 mins.

Does that mean you use Boyata again or Kompany without a pre season? How long has he been in training for?

I actually feel really relaxed going into this season. I feel like we are under the least amount of pressure to domestically perform than we've been under for quite some time - of course there is always heavy expectation, but all the preseason focus has been on Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Liverpool in the market, while we've been unusually settled and quiet. We've won the title in 2 of the last 3 season now along with both cups, and every trophy added eases the pressure on the club that little bit more. If we don't win the league it'll be a disappointing season, but it wouldn't be the complete disaster that it might have been (has been) labelled in years gone by. I don't know if that's just how I feel or whether it's wide spread but I like it. The same can't be said for us in Europe though, we really need to start pushing to the latter stages like we should be doing.

As for how I think we'll actually do - well I think it's a really difficult one to call this year. If we can finalise a deal for Mangala then I'm very happy with the squad, it's strong in every department. I'd put us and Chelsea as joint favourites (Chelsea perhaps just edging it), Arsenal just behind those two sides, and Liverpool and United just behind again fighting for 4th spot. It's so hard to call because all four of the other sides around us are relying on incoming players settling to improve them on last season, and we won't really know how that's panned out until it gets going. I think Arsenal have the squad capable of challenging and winning it if they get it right, but I don't see Liverpool or United challenging with their squads as things stand - for that my early view is that it'll be a three horse race, but there's time left in the market yet.

Kompany all day from those options - if Boyata starts I will be extremely disappointed that we've not prepared our squad better going into the season.

He's not good enough, and everybody knows it.

Some more quotes from earlier in that thread:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The hypocrisy is staggering, when you consider that the only reason they're successful is because of the money coming from... the other side of the world.

Oh Gill, you!

So now that its a fair playing field they're complaining about us? What about all the clubs who came 5th since their rise to top 4 who have missed out on CL football? and all the clubs relegated by their results? Pricks.

17 Van Der Gouw's RAWK vs Bluemoon theory

I think the difference between RAWK and Bluemoon is becoming apparent.

Your average RAWK poster may or may not have some level of intellect, but it's normally juxtaposed by a combination of:
a) Delusion
b) Victim mentality
c) Being a Scouse drama queen and
d) Lack of insight/judgement.

The typical RAWK post therefore, might look something like this:

DwSSfVj.png

Bluemoon posters on the other hand have basically no intellect, which in combination with:
a) Total arrogance/superiority compex
b) Lack of class on any level
c) Often being 15 years old
d) Not knowing anything about City prior to Arab money/2009
e) Being obsessed with United
f) Not having a grasp of basic English grammar, makes for posts like:

Just seen this

That's fantastic.
That post is more intellectual than the theory of relativity. Van der Gouw for the Nobel prize!
that 17 van der gouw post should get an award!!

:D Anybody would think you guys are aliases I set up to praise myself, cheers all.

@Solius
@brewlio
@Grinner

Please can I have a new tagline for my literary genius as a prize? Damien gave me my current one for a post about an incident outside a nightclub

Notwithstanding our poor start to the season (mainly because we have nearly 4-5 first choice players out with injury/not fit), what do you think of the United squad vis-a-vis when you made the earlier statement? Think we can go on a run and actually challenge for the title as we have no European fixtures to worry us.

Bluemoons 'Weekend Premiership Games' thread has 52 pages, 33 of them about our game.

In fairness, as much as they wouldn't want to admit it, most opposition fans will have been interested in seeing what team LVG would unleash today after the summer we had. We even have a Madrid fan on here that said he was looking forward to it. I'm not ashamed to admit I like watching Silva when he's on song!

If you find any gold, post it.
Nah its just full of what you would expect. Rag this and rag that, calling each other rags, accusing us of corruption, calling Tyler and Sky biased, saying we are shit and will struggle to finish in the top half of the table, accusing Rednapp of being 'bought' and there should be an investigation, saying they turned down DiMaria loads of times because they didn't want him, complaining about our spending (yes seriously), etc, etc, etc.

Just the usual informed opinions about us on there.

RedCafe's weekend football thread has 38 pages, 19 of them about City's game. Your game was one of two televised ones for City fans to comment on and the Liverpool-Villa game was hardly a thriller.

No one would have bothered if you played QPR at home and put 4 past them.

Ha! Didn't want Di Maria.

James Milner starts on the wing against Arsenal.

Looks like they've tangled up the definitions of "Don't want" and "Can't afford". Words are hard.

Yeah because that would have been expected for us.

United are just the bigger story, I don't think there needs to be any explanation regarding that. The day City are not expected to beat a relegation candidate like QPR, it wouldn't even start a conversation. I'm glad there's an obsession everywhere.

Bluemoon, full of grace in defeat:

Hate these bastards.

Pass pass pass in defence and midfield for 5 minutes. Lose the ball. Dive. Win a free kick.

Referee always protects them and gives us nothing.

If i see any more Ribery and Robben dives I'll rip my eyes out.

Looking at our performance last night, it is clear that had we not been hampered by FFP restrictions, we would have obtained better cover for Zabba, Yaya and Sergio. The options of Sagna, Lampard and no-one will not help us at this level.

Oh well, we can still top the group and only have a 1 goal difference to make up in the reverse fixture.

Yeah, fecking hell - I want a brand new dream team every year. Bloody FFP.

[Sarcasm aside, we're now guilty of this dream team thing at United too] :(

The latest thread:

"What do you think about United?" http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=305815&start=130

Only been up since 9pm last night and already on 14 pages of hatred and envy.

Agree with @17 Van Der Gouw. Why is it that Bluemoon are a particularly hateful bunch? Rawkites are delusional, but not bad people. They tend to at least be able to speak objectively and don't feel the need to put 'rag' into every sentence. But the posters on Bluemoon seem to be mean-spirited, narrow minded and genuinely hateful people. The sad thing is that they represent the worst part of the city fans, who can generally be ok.

The posts in this thread range from the moving:

Bluemooner1 said:
"In memory of my Grandad i set my alarm clock 5 minutes early every day so i can hate the rag c**ts for 5 minutes longer."

to the poetic:

Bluemooner2 said:
For me, being a Mancunian and a City fan and knowing that they exist is like standing in the gardens of paradise with dog turd on your shoe.

to the well meaning:

Bluemooner3 said:
I pity them.

to the succinct:

Bluemooner4 said:

some players are/ have been decent people, scholes, irwin to me were well sound. my mates who are rags are people i would line the trenches with. lifelong friends. not the platics or the tourists but the proper footy fan in their ranks are just like us.

City: only proper footy fans, no plastics.

the club on the other hand is a cancer to the game. all this green and gold and fc utd business tell us that some of their fans feel the same.

MUFC: everything that's wrong with football.
