Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

The fact that we've been shite has allowed Pellegrini a bit of relief. City have almost been as bad as us

Exactly. We didn't capitalise on their feck up this weekend because we had another of our own. Had we won we'd have been on the same points as City and only 1 point behind Chelsea. Wouldn't have been all doom and gloom like it appears now. Fine margins.

This. Aren't we like one win apart from worst start since 89 and best start since Busby?

Yeah it's silly really.
Our results are the only thing stopping City getting any negative attention. They've lost to Cardiff and Villa.

They've had some very good performances sprinkled in amongst the bad results, and they're above us in the table by a few points. I'd be a lot more optimistic in City's situation than I am in ours to be honest.

Really they have spent around £100m this summer and we are 3 points behind them plus we have played them away Liverpool away and Chelsea home! A lot more optimistic is stretching it IMO!

Aside from the game against us they were only good against a hapless and 10 man Newcastle. Lost to Cardiff and Villa and were lucky not to lose against both Hull and Stoke

Bunch of game raising players. Play against United, and lose against the likes of Villa and Cardiff, and get done in by Bayern. Meh!

But if they were game raisers then why did they get done in the biggest game? Confused logic!

Their biggest game will always be against United. That's what they live and breathe for.
Disagree they don't come much bigger than at home in Europe against the current European Champions!

Doesn't makes much of a difference. They have been in Europe for 2 seasons have been soundly beaten by Bayern twice. The last time they got beaten by their reserve squad.

They lost because Bayern outplayed them, City at their best would still have lost last night.

Do we have any City fans on the CAF anymore?

I can remember only one City fan in my time here. Think he started banging on about how the CL seeding system should changed because City are too massive to be in a difficult group. Got banned in the end I think.

The pirate?

There was a bloke dave at one point. I think he went a bit mad in the end.

City's youth team battered Munich 5-1 yesterday and I was interested in hearing about a young Irish lad called Jack Byrne who they signed from St. Kevin's (same club as we got Robbie Brady from).

Heard and read some seriously impressive stuff about him of late.

6-0 in the end I think. I read a match report and it described Byrne as 'impressive again at the heart of things'.

A successful season for United has always been to win a trophy, a successful season for City fans is just to finish above United.

Do they even need to finish above us? I thought they just had to win one game against us for it to be a success. I remember reading City fans on Bluemoon last season saying "We (City) won the battle, but United won the war" and other guff along those lines, after they beat us at Old Trafford, but we won the title. I don't even understand how that's possibly true. Surely the "battle" was a draw, as we beat them at the Etihad in the same season? If you want to get technical about it, we won on away goals :p

That lad wasn't bad outside of wanting the entire CL system changed to suit that bunch of tossers.

You really think the players think like that? They are nearly all foreign. For many last nights game would have been huge.
How? None of them has tasted real European success with City. They hardly know what the knockout stages of the CL looks like - A loss against Bayern would hardly make any difference to either of them tbh.Who do you think Millwall be fired up for? A match against West Ham, or a match against say, a continental European team?

Their League and football revolves around Manchester United. That's about it.

It might do for certain supporters but I doubt their players give a toss about the derby. I'm not singling out City players, it's the same at every club.

Brilliant post, was about to post similar using Liverpool as an example as either of these teams would rather beat us in the league than beat Bayern in the group stages. Even Leeds. Millwall was a much better example, given how they'll never know the European CL, they love to be in it but still prefer the hammers!!!

Also look at Kompany, Nasri and even Agero's faces, they love beating us and know all about it, foreign or not. They'll let the new players know for sure. Look at Kompany in that game, it was like he was born in England and Manchester the way he threw himself about!

There was Kippax Kid on here a fair while ago, I haven't seen her on here since when Richards burst on to the scene.

City players and staff dip into their own pockets to halve cost of away games for fans
9 Oct 2013 17:04
The cost of Manchester City's away games this season will be halved after everyone at the club put their own money in to help subsidise the matches.

In an unprecedented move Manuel Pellegrini, his players and coaches have each shelled out a figure - believed to be around £1,000 - so the club can offer half price tickets to season ticket holders at selected matches throughout the campaign.

It is understood that the games furthest away or matches that take place within a few days of each other will be prioritised.

The Blues, along with other Premier League clubs, set aside £200,000 to improve experiences at away matches for supporters.

Yesterday United announced they would use the money to knock £4 off the cost of tickets at matches on the road.

But City would appear to have taken things further with a five-figure sum added to the £200,000 from first-team players and coaching staff.

The Blues have also not stopped there - away areas at their Etihad Stadium are about to revamped to make the experience more pleasurable for visiting fans.

It is understood highlights on concourse screen will focus on the away side and catering staff could be kitted out in the colours of City's opposition.

Tom Glick, chief commercial and operating officer said: “Manchester City fans are famous for their fiercely loyal and vocal support. They have stuck with the club through thick and thin for generations, and both the club and players want to say thank you.”

Skipper Vincent Kompany, one of those to make a donation, added: “In my opinion, our away support is the best in the Premier League and we never take that for granted.

“Win, lose or draw, City supporters can always be heard throughout our games and I just hope that this initiative proves just how much we value this incredible support on the road."

Baw, isn't that beautiful.
