Some of us shouldn't mind you...

So you think Blanc will perform wonderfully in central defence next season? ;)

I believe my previous words already emphesises my beliefs.

G.Nev was the guy who brought our defence together, not Blanc. Nicky Butt also played a key role in protecting the back four in this transitional period. But next season G.Nev will be our main RB cos Brown and P.Nev aren't that good at RB.

Blanc played well at times. But just as Southgate could come in and do well, or Ehiogu. Why is it when O'Shea comes in and does great, Blanc gets credit? Why isnt it O'Shea helped out Blanc? Or why isnt it - O'Shea did it all himself?

The point is, Blanc did his part just fine, not fabulous. Just as P.Nev does his job just fine, not great. Blanc however has little to do with other players doing their part - do you see? He didnt form a partnership with anyone, he just occupied his slot. He didnt single handedly turn this defence around.

He did help the team in the sense that he brought calmness and he is a good defender, but then alot of defenders can come in and help, simply by being good players. But I dont think he inspired Brown and co to train harder or do this or do that. Not the way Cantona instilled a little bit of magic into our youngsters via the training pitch (which seems to have worn off).

apart from having the ebst positional sense of any premeirshipship defender, in addition to other qualities, fergie maybe needs him to lure MEXES to united

I suspect that Blanc must be waiting to see who Fergie buys.

But O'Shea and Brown have to step up at some point. I guess if we buy Rio then Blanc will leave, unless he could be a defensive coach on a playing contract.

O'Shea, Brown, Ferdinand, and Neville would a solid base at CB. I would think we would need to bring in another CB.

Gary Neville should make that centre-half spot his own - that's his best position rather than right-back where he tends to get caught out.

I'd rather have O'Shea or Brown in centre-half than Blanc, we need to look to the future not cling on to a "sunset" player

Ayala is that good, but you're right about us needing some reserve CB's. I think Bramble would be a good choice for this.</strong><hr></blockquote>

how does Lescott, from Wolves, rate??

You might be right about Blanc - time will tell. My point is you say Denis overstayed his welcome. this is not true.
