Kicked off a little bit when they got took apart second half with a few trying to get over the segregation line and throwing objects.

Some pretty appalling behaviour which was a shame as they were pretty loud and gave good support.

We have been surpassed over the years with hooliganism and yet you rarely hear of any bad press regarding foreign fans. Had this been United or any English fans you can guarantee it would be big news and FIFA and UEFA reading the riot act.

Was funny watching them fight the police. I know football can make you angry but at what point do you think punching a police officer with riot gear on is a good idea? Was pretty shocking really, they were decent in the first half.

Pretty standard at a lot of football throughout Europe. Looking at the teams that played in in the Europa and Conference last night, I would be surprised if there wasn’t trouble at close to half the the games.

Not been anything like that at Old Trafford for a while - many Euro clubs bring a lot more fans than Betis managed too

Unfortunately this is likely to result in problems in Seville next week

Shame, I thought this thread was going to be giving their support credit, they sounded great on TV. Didn't realise they were being twats. Football does bizarre things to people.

Yeah, a lot worse gets tolerated at European clubs than does in England these days. On TV they looked like good fans so it's a shame.

I have always loved that chant though. Outside of about 3 other clubs there is no response to it. I can almost imagine Bruno saying it to the players

Best solution to this would be Betis banning all yesterday’s away fans from the return leg. Then those who didn’t misbehave last night would make damn sure those who did behave better next time.

Which chant?

It’s a bit like the lower league club fans following England abroad.

It’s rarely that simple. I’m not massively clued up on the ultra groups of Betis, but a lot of the time they have close links to the club.

Far more organised in fairness. This isn’t just a group of lads going out and getting smashed in the sun.

Those were probably Supporters Gol Sur, an ultra group who is known for being extremely violent in Spain. If I recall, when England played Spain at Betis stadium for the Nations League a few years ago, they made a violent trophy hunt on English supporters stealing flags, banners, scarfs, etc.

They ain't fans, they clearly thugs that just turn up to games for fights

They didn't seem anything spesh. My immediate thought when I got home and saw some clips was that they sounded way louder on tv. They simmered right down after they went down 2-1 as well.

I've often wondered if they're mixing the sound with a bias towards the away end, particularly in big cup games, as it's not the first time I've thought an away end was incredibly (and unusually) loud. The coverage of the Leeds game at Old Trafford was particularly strange, their away support is good, but the sound of it drowned out everything.

don’t worry, uefa will come down on us like a tonne of bricks for any fan trouble.

They were literally doing that last night. At one point they must have been messing about with it as they turned the away fans noise off completely (midway through their durge, not after we scored).

The clown in the first vid, trying to find someone to hold him back when he was climbing over the barrier, then just had to climb back himself when no one stopped him

I was in the Stretford End and couldn't tell that there was trouble. They seemed like decent support but seeing the videos above what a set of morons. It's not the 70s anymore, feck off.

On a side note. What was the song they kept singing that sounded like ‘Fergie! Fergie!”

A tribute to Sir Alex.

That behaviour didn't make a dent In the Media, they were more interested in Bruno.
The Betis fans were disgraceful and a hefty fine will be imposed plus their club will now have to pay for the Damage as well. Just like the bills UTD have sent the Bindippers over the years.

They're probably used to only away fans getting battered by police in Seville so think they can get away with anything.

If those were Englishmen you wouldn’t hear the end of it.

2nd leg should be played behind closed doors. Betis supporters will be just trying to have a go at our traveling fans all game.
