Best worst manager of all time?

He's easily that, I'm thinking you're forgetting how many coaches are out there.

I know this is only one country, but here's the full list of PL coaches - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Premier_League_managers

The question should be whether or not being in the top 20% makes you too good to be one of the worst best managers or not.

Surely only managers that have been considered one of the best, can be the worst best?

Well I meant best worst as per the thread title. It's late, and I got things the wrong way around.

Anyway, the point is that to make top 20% since the PL was formed he'd only need to be in the top 56 according to the number of coaches presented in that link (280). For permanent appointments only it's top 41 (217). I think he's easily that in PL history.

Assuming similar numbers of managers get hired and fired in Italy and Spain he'd only have to achieve a similar sort of rank to make it there.

Seeing as they're some of the biggest leagues in the world any strong showing in those countries puts you at least in that same position on a global scale.

Add in similar list from Spain and Italy, and what he did in those countries is better than 80% of coaches there.

Aye. It’s just perspective. Nani is among the top 20% of wingers of all time but nobody is putting him among the best 10%.

Ranieri was a top coach, hence the jobs he got. He should be nowhere near the ‘Best worst’ nonsense.
