Best Sequels

Empire Strikes Back
Aliens
Terminator 2
Spiderman 2
The Dark Knight
Mad Max 2
The Wrath Of Khan
Indiana Jones and the last crusade

Good shout, I don't really like the Star Trek films, but that film is brilliant.

Got to add Return of the King on there, just for the epic fight and the bit when the Rohan horns start blowing and you see them trot over the hill with the subtle music and the beautiful sky. Damn that whole scene gets chills down my spine.

I also really rate Shrek 2, I think its a damn sight better than the first.

Bourne Supremacy is idiotically excellent as well. Damn I love those films.

I concur with the highlighted point.

With regards to the Bourne films, I enjoyed them but the blurred action/fight scenes where you couldn't really tell what is happening really grated with me. I assume it was done to get the film passed with a low age limit to maximise profits.

If you watch the director commentry it's his 'style'. He was one of the first directors to start the fast editing documentary style shooting (which I also hate). It's my only critique with the film, which is a moot point once you get used to it. It does gradually decrease as the films progress.

So now I know who to blame
Oh well, perhaps I was too cynical or maybe he was hired by the studio due to his shooting style which would help to keep the certification low?

Either way it was annoying but it didn't completely ruin the experience as I still liked the films.

Oh yeah, back on topic:

Die hard with a vengeance.
Lethal Weapon 3

anybody?

I prefer 'Lethal Weapon 4.' I like Jet Li.

Jet was good in that, I didn't watch foreign language cinema back then and it was the first time I'd seen him. The film overall was probably the weakest of the 4 though.

All the Rocky sequels are great except V, a bit silly but entertaining.

And I agree with Bogus Journey, 10 times as good as Excellent Adventure.

Return of the King isn't really a sequal. LOTR is one long book only split into 3 parts for ease of reading and maximization of book sales.

Infernal Affairs 2

Never got round to seeing this...Isn't it an extended version of the quick edit scenes of them growing up? or is that the next one?

I always get shouted down by idiots when I tell them Infernal Affairs is better than The Departed by some distance...How Scorsese & Monahan got Oscars galore for essentially copying it verbatim and adding characters that weren't needed and actually reduced the impact of the events (Marky Marks character's existance negates the impact of Sheen dying as he's not the only person who knows Di Caprio's undercover) and tacking on a 'The good guys win ending' as opposed to the 'who wants to be like this man?' ending, pissed me off no end...feckers!
