Off The Wall simply because Billie Jean and Beat It are the obvious choice(s).

Bit of a random selection of songs put forward for the poll - there are some far more obvious contenders than a couple of the options - Dont Stop Til You Get Enough is a glaring ommision

Personally, I voted for:
Bille Jean
Beat It
Thriller
Bad

Many good ones. Off the Wall is the best album in my mind and I'm torn between Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Can't Help It.

Always liked the Jackson 5 track "Can You Feel It" or whatever it's called.

I'm in the "I can't believe 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' was omitted" camp. It's got so many layers. Brass instruments, percussion instruments, violins and cellos dueling one another. It's a guaranteed mood enhancer to boot. Top notch.

Wanna be Startin something is good as well

Yes.

Everything was good, almost. Even the later songs in his life are a sort-of narrative to what he was going through and thinking at that time.

'Will you be there' - evokes the most emotions. I think the significance of his later work will only be widely realised after his death. Nobody can quantify what he was going through / his reality - without a window into his soul; the man was exceptional and he lived an exceptional life.

I've voted for everyone single one of them as they have all held the "my favourite song" badge at different phases in my life. And I have hummed each one for weeks on end at different times. There are others missing too, but the list would just get ridiculous (Will You Be There being an obvious one).

Not many like The Way You Make Me Feel I see.

Quite a few are my favourites.

Man In The Mirror
The Way You Make Me feel
You Are Not Alone
She's Out Of My Life
Will You Be There

And plenty more.

Stranger in Moscow really deserves a mention as well come to think of it. One of the few true gems from his later years.

I'd say Billie Jean or Don't Stop Till You Get Enough. Both amazing grooves.

Being a little controversial here, We Are The World >>> Do They Know It's Christmas. That was probably my first memory of MJ's music.

'You Rock My World'

Great song. I thought this was a return to form, it turned out not to be.

I was impressed by it too, reckon it would have been a big hit had it come out in the late 80s or early 90s

Hmmm, yeah fair enough, there's still some blackness left there...all be it minimal. He's had too much work on his eyes by then though...

The sad thing is, after a couple of surgeries (by about 84) he looked completely fine and had all but gotten rid of his original nose (which he bizarrely was clearly obsessed with). He was actually quite a good looking boy...but he just could let it lie and he kept fecking fiddling untill he looked like nothing human. Shame...

I'm not (too) ashamed to admit it but I had a big crush on him when Bad came out. Well, as much of a crush as an eight year old can have. Even now (and this probably sounds dodgy) when he winks at that kid in the Smooth Criminal video is pretty hot.

Ok, yeah. That did sound weird.

There's a song called Get On The Floor i've been loving every time it's come on when blasting Off The Wall in my car lately. It's a quality driving song, coming home from work late at night i have it playing and passers by are clearly thinking "what a tosser."

Stranger in Moscow
Whatever Happens
I Can't Help It
Smooth Criminal
Dirty Diana
Human Nature
Liberian Girl
They Don't Care About Us
Childhood
Will You Be There
We've Had Enough*

* This is the last song that was finished and packaged and released to the fans officially..part of The Ultimate Collection boxset. It's a shame it never got the release that was intended because of what was happening at the time.

Beat It is my favourite track, and awesome on so many levels.

With Billie Jean and Thriller coming a close second.

The track on my Moonwalker VHS tape is also cool: "Music and me". Its a short song and I now have it on my mp3 player. Sums up Michael's early life really well.

MJ has been occupying my Spotify for quite some time and he was fantastic. I think I've had 7-8 favourite songs in the course of a week. Apart from the most obvious ones: Give in to me, Man in the mirror, Leave me alone, Who is it, Dirty Diana and You rock my world. So much quality music. A real pity his life went the way it went.
