Ramsdale is perhaps the best all round keeper in the league. Possibly still pipped by Allison.
He’s hugely underrated and getting better all the time. I’d love him at United. A truly wonderful shithouse too.
Ederson is a funny one as it’s so rare to see him being a goalkeeper. I just giggle when I see him play a one touch volley to a full back like it’s nothing.
Not for nothing, Southgate would play Pickford over all those three.
No chance does Ramsdale make the save De Gea made at the end of the Everton match.
Allison, of course.
All round probably Alisson. Best distributor is Ederson by an absolute distance.
I rate most of the keepers in the league tbh. Never been a big Pickford fan though, or Danny Ward.
Do some people even watch football? I mean really, with their eyes open and everything? This is a shocker post and by an absolute distance.

IMO i think Ederson is a better passer of a football, long ball especially. Its ok to disagree... but some will also agree with myself
Isnt it actually Paul Robinson with assists anyway... I swear he is either level or ahead
The mental gymnastics needed to convince yourself that one keeper is a better passer than another because he has launched a few balls that have ended up as goals is fairly astounding. The mental gymnastics is astounding. The stats are right there, no context needed. And yet...
If Kepa really does cement his position as number 1 and goes on to have a good Chelsea career, it's gotta be up there with the biggest comebacks from flopdom ever, right?

Apart from his shot saving, how has he actually played?
Sweeping, passing, cross claiming, aerials etc?
Wanna swap Spainards?
He's still weak on aerial crosses (and probably still always will be), but he's absolutely elite in terms of sweeping and passing. He is very obviously more comfortable on the ball compared to Mendy.
If he can maintain the above average shot stopping numbers he's put up during his time as a backup then he's a tremendous option for us; especially as Mendy's shot stopping numbers last year were entirely mediocre.
Interesting. I'll keep an eye out on his game.
I always thought he looked a bit flappy/reacting to the shot rather than relying on positioning and covering angles etc but instinct and elite athleticism goes a loooong way too.
Yeah I think your take is spot on. He looked utterly lost under Lampard, but ever since Tuchel came in and started working with him he's improved his positioning significantly.
He put up literally the worst ever PL season in terms of PSxGA under Lampard then went to being more or less average under Tuchel (at least in small sample sizes). A big thing mechanically with him is he had always dropped his hands behind him in order to build momentum for his dive (hence a lot of the flappyness and weak wrists), but there's been a concerted effort to get him to stop doing that for the past few years and it seems to be bearing fruit. The save he made against Ramsey was incredible for any keeper but given Kepa's previous it was flat-out astonishing because it simply would not have been physically possible with his earlier technique.
Mendy would have comfortably saved that it has to be said.Kepa with chocolate wrists for the goal sadly.
He was good apart from that though.

Really? It was a very well placed header going across the goal and he did well to tip it onto the post. More luck and it would've been heralded as one of the saves of the weekend.
Agree, no one close to the two you mentionIs there a standout goalie in the league? I’d argue that the oversll quality is high with many good goalies and few poor ones. However, I also don’t think there are anyone that is that great either. No prime Schmeichel or Neuer.
That being said, Ederson is perfect for city. On the ball and in possession, it’s like having an extra outfield player. As a shot stopper and commander of his box, he’s still good but not spectacular.
Allisson is probably an overall better goalie, but apart from his brilliant one on one abilities, he has no stand out qualities. A good shot stopper but not brilliant. Decent at crosses but not great. Good with the ball at his feet but not close to Ederson. I also thinks he has been lucky that not more of his mistakes have resulted in goals against.
DDG is best in terms of out and out goalkeeping, just doesn't have the other attributes of say Allison or Ederson, and even then it's not like it's bad. Everyone seems to underrate him for some reason.
And that weird moment where he seemed to try to catch a ball that was spinning harmlessly wide and only succeeded in knocking it out for a corner. In that moment, I had never felt so seen as a seven aside goalkeeper.Kepa with chocolate wrists for the goal sadly.
He was good apart from that though.

totally agree. Not even in the top three United keepers of all timeNot sure what you mean by out and out goalkeeping, but if you mean traditional, pre Neuer stay in your box goalkeeping, then even then he's not the best. Shot stopping, leap, and reflex saves yes, but crosses, coming off his line, 1 v 1, penalties, he's a long way from the best.
Especially if he keeps this up (spoiler alert - it's basically inconceivable that he would keep this up)
@Pogue Mahone Chelsea domination
Liverpool have been shite this season yes. Main point being Kepa had those stats from 3 games only not 10/11So their keeper’s been making saves. OMG. They must be shite. Allison up there too. Liverpool also clearly shite. Likewise Newcastle.
