Best front three in history

Agreed.

The amazing part to me is how much fun they have when playing together. You can really tell they love playing with each other. Amazing to be honest. Egos of each player not getting in the way at all. I mean Messi had a hat-trick chance today, but he let Neymar take the pen.

They've been doing that penalty rotation for a while now. Wonderful really. Suarez actually dived at 5-0 to get a penalty for Neymar to score. Can't get mad at that.

Totally ridiculous.

I can't even do some of those combinations on FIFA :(

The way those three attack as a unit is beyond anything I've seen before. It's very debatable whether there has ever been a front three with as much individual talent, but their team play makes it a no-brainer for me. Our team couldn't pull off a collection of attacking plays of that quality in one whole season. Barca have done it in one game. It's mesmerizing.

The way football is now it is easier to get a front three like Barca's. Only a small handful have the resources to make it. I'm sure City will get a very good one in the future.
Most leagues now are like Scotland used to be. It's pretty boring as far as competition goes but great if you like watching beautiful football. I'm pretty bored of it to be honest and only watch United games now.

They actually look even more fluid than last season which you would probably expect with Suarez taking a season to adapt to his new environment and young Neymar naturally maturing and improving individually. Last season it was a bit more mechanical, i. e. Messi playmaking and Neymar scoring. Now Neymar also participates a lot more in creative and combinational duties and what you get as a result is that goal for the 2-0 (first video). I'm in awe.

Very true. Pique's goal was also great to watch. It is amazing how on the same wavelength their team is, the training must be absolutely fun to take part of.

This, by a country mile.

Suarez, Neymar and Messi arent even the best Barcelona front line. Pedro, Villa and Messi or Henry, Eto'o, Messi were better than they have been so far.
7 months on, would you still claim that?

Individually at their peaks I'd agree they were better players, but Ronaldo was long past his peak in 2002 and Ronaldinho was a few years off his peak. Rivaldo was the only one you could reasonably claim was at his peak then. In terms of understanding and combination play this lot are miles ahead of them, for me.

Spot on.

MSN outscored almost every team in 2015, and that too with Messi/Neymar injured for few matches.

Never could quite believe the fawning over the elite Brazilian players. It's as if they've been built up to legendary status and nothing can touch them.

First of all, Messi is the best of all time. Secondly, Suarez is the best striker in the world right now and it's not even close. Lastly, Neymar will retire Brazil's top scorer of all time. This is the best attack the world has ever seen and that's why they'll be the first team to ever retain the CL this season.

Every single one of those three is better than Ronaldo/Ronaldinho. These players are literally changing the game right before our eyes and we're too blinded by nostalgia to take notice, in my opinion.

I seriously have to disagree about Suarez and Neymar being better than Ronaldo/Ronaldinho.

What? Ridiculous to suggest that anyone saying Ronaldo/Ronaldinho are better than Neymar or Suarez are being blinded by nostalgia.

Ronaldo was a ridiculously good player at a young age when you see footage of him: clinical in front of goal, full of pace, powerful, and one of the greatest all-round forwards you'd be likely to see. He changed footballing history by being the top goalscorer for a WC winning Brazil side. Ronaldinho's peak was quite short, but he was a ridiculously talented dribbler, magnificent with a ball at his feet, and just a brilliant footballer to watch.

That's not to say that Neymar and Suarez can't end up being regarded on the same level as them. They're both brilliant and probably will be, but those praising Ronaldo/Ronaldinho are hardly doing it just out of nostalgia.

I do think Messi, Suarez, Neymar is the best front three ever. They already scored a record amount of goals last season resulting in a treble and they are actually on track to beat that record.

I like how even the hardest attempt to try a hipster opinion that they arent is just laughed down at this point. they are the 3 best players in the world right now, playing at effectively their peaks.

This lot are cheating.

 Aye, I'm as prone as anyone to looking for a hipster/anorak answer to these sorts of questions, but the brilliance of those three makes it redundant. 3 incredible players individually, all playing close to the best football of their careers, and complementing each other brilliantly. That second goal against Roma was jaw-dropping. Reminded me of the Yorke-Cole telepathy back in the good old days.

Messi has done it so many times you go blind to it, but his first touch at full pelt at that angle, followed by such an exquisite lob is a technical marvel few players in the world could even dream of emulating.

That touch was sublime. Both actually.

Not changed in my opinion that they'll score more than 122 goals this season baring a big injury. Messi has been out for 2 months but that's counter balanced by Suarez being suspended for the beginning of last season. If all three stay fit for say 95% of next season (and there's no shock transfers obviously) we could genuinely be looking at 150 goals between the three of them.

Making a bloody good case for it this year again...

They'll probably break the 122 goals they scored last season even with Messi being out for two months. I've just looked on Transfermarkt and done some quick calculations- at the end of November last season they'd scored 31 goals between them (Messi 17, Suarez 1 and Neymar 13). This season with Real Sociedad still to play this weekend before we hit December they've scored 39 (8, 17 & 14).

Just to update this and give some context, at the same stage last season the numbers were:

Messi 31
Neymar 21
Suarez 5

57 goals total

The best players in the world + the second best player in the world + the next best player in the world.

Decent strike force.

It's hard to argue against Barca's front 3. 3 of the best players in the world.

The Real 4 of Figo, Zidane, Raul and Ronaldo was an incredible line up too.

Gullit, Van Basten, Massaro and Maradona, Careca, Carnavale were quality front 3s also but foreigner limits back then meant it was virtually impossible for those teams to have a line up like Barca has now.

Seriously? Neymar and Suarez are not better than Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. What are you smoking? I am a huge Neymar fan but he isnt better than either of Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

Griezmann-Martial-Dybala (that would be great for us).

Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi are for me the best front of 3. However, I enjoyed Ronaldinho-Eto'o-Messi a bit more.
Even though Barca has had the best fronts of 3, Iniesta has been really important for their success.

Our best front of 3: Ronaldo-Rooney-Tevez... The question is, what front of 3 would you like to see at United?

Seriously? Neymar and Suarez are not better than Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. What are you smoking? I am a huge Neymar fan but he isnt better than either of Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

I say it now. You will say it when Neymar retires. Ronaldinho isn't even close to the other two.. but I will let you argue Ronaldo's case.

Suarez in his prime is the best striker in world football since Thierry Henry.

To the people who are insistant on falling for the nostalgia effect of players from days gone past: you are currently living in the era of the best player of all time, playing in the best attack of all time in arguably the best team of all time.

Learn to embrace it whilst it's happening. History will write itself in the future.

If you believe Suarez is better than Ronaldo, you must also believe he's better than any player in Arsenal's history, right?

Neymar and Suarez are both easily better than 2002 Ronaldo/Ronaldinho imo.

Roanldo's peak came much before and Ronaldinho's a litttle later.

There's some nostalgia tinted re-writing of 2002 Brazil which was simply an effective team to watch -- not particularly great.

Yeah. Even Rivaldo was at the end of his peak then and did not do much at Milan when he moved there in the summer after the WC.

Suarez last 3 seasons have been better than anything Ronaldo or Ronaldinho ever did. There's a mystique about these Samba players that just simply isn't warranted, particularly in Dinho's case. How can I compare Suarez with the likes of Vieira, Adams, Brady or Bergkamp though?

Ok, let's make it attacking players only.

You must n't have watched Ronaldo play pre-injury. I think Dinho can be overrated as well but don't think either Suarez or Neymar have surpassed him yet, though latter surely will.

He's not talking about just 2002 though.

Yea, that's just wrong then.

I was going off the title of this thread -- this front 3 are easily better than any 3 combination of players Brazil had in 2002.

I don't think there's any doubt this is the greatest front 3 ever.

This is the Bradman of football -- people will be like "how is that even possible"? We're pretty lucky to be seeing this imo.

If Neymar suprasses Ronaldinho, it will have as much to do with his work ethic as his talent imo.

Ronaldinho for 2-3 years was magical. There is no way to say Ronaldinho would have played at the same level if he'd been fit/committed for 5-7 more years but those 3 years of Ronaldinho were very good.

Ronaldinho was basically the cataylst in Barca becoming what they are. They were almost an average team which he made into an awesome team.

They had likes of Oleguer, van Bronckhorst, Marquez, van Bommel, Giuly... all decent players but nothing compared to some of the more recent Barca team.

The past 3 seasons of Suarez and Neymar (2 seasons) have been better than anything Ronaldo ever put up. It's funny how people aren't wise to this. You're watching football in its greatest era with the greatest technical level ever.

I can't make this any clearer. Ronaldo won one league title in 14 years in Europe. I'm fairly certain he didn't win the Champions League either but I am welcome to be corrected. Suarez almost carried a dire Liverpool squad to the most competitive league in the world and is now on course for a 45-50 goal season.
