Meaning, if he was on our list, he definitely would not be having a medical at city.
The pure arrogance that you think a player will always choose us over city.

He's a smart guy and he'll be making the right choice by going to City. Having Pep coaching him, learning from David Silva and playing with the pace and runs of Sane and Sterling will be perfect for him. He'll be great for City and I don't think he'd fit in well at United. I'm expecting this to be done by the time the Confederations Cup happens and I'm very happy for him as it's always very gratifying seeing a player you've followed since he hadn't even played a senior match make it into one of the best teams in the world

Don't really care, if we'd go after Lemar, which I doubt we will.

It took two a whole day after the end of the season for someone to start bashing Woodward.

Portuguese connection means nothing. Money, City offers it. Prestige means nothing we aren't exactly good at the moment. Trophy winners, City with Pep have has much chances of winning silverware.

If we are honest, at moment a player has as many reasons to join one team or the other, we aren't on a pedestal.

Yet they've won nothing.

This supposed Jorge Mendes link is BS.
When do we ever get his best clients?
Fraud.

Great tag line and I agree.

This place has gone into utter meltdown. Relax ffs.

Two good players for each position is the usual managerial mantra, isn't it? Looks about right.
De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva being world class and Sane/Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus already top class and with potential to be topclass it seems overkill. Sane, Bernardo, Jesus wouldnt want to be second fiddle whilst they could start at Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal for example me thinks.

I have tended to freak out a lot in the past when City have signed players that we were linked with. Not all of them go on to be great successes.( other than the first 10 games of the season when City are unstoppable)

If he goes there, I am sure we will have someone else in mind. Please dear god, let it not be James.

Not saying that, but maybe the earlier reports were always about city, he's Portuguese, I'm pretty sure if Mourinho really wanted him he would have put the boat out. His comments after the win were clear we are not buying him.

what does that mean for sane and sterling tho?

Inverted hybrid wing backs.

We don't know anything. Tbh if we were never in for him, my guess would be for José to have said just that, rather than saying what he said.

Same every year. People lose their shit every time one of our rivals sign a player. 'Scary' and 'terrifying' are the two most frequently used words here during the summer, always used to describe City's line up regarding their new signings.

We need a number 10 who can provide creativity on a consistent basis. Something neither Mata or Mkhi have done this season consistently. Bernardo would've offered just that. Disappointing.
I think if Mourinho buys a wide player it will be one who has searing pace, a different profile. Like you said we already have Mata and Mkhi plus Griezmann is expected.

Bunch of complete fannies in here. You'd think they had signed Messi judging by the state of this thread. James is actually a better so we'd cone off better.

Maybe Mourinho already knew that he had made the choice to join City over us.

Sterling, De Bruyne, Sane, Silva, Bernardo Silva, Aguero, Jesus for max 4 positions? Overkill?

City played a number of games towards the end of the season with one defensive midfielder, four attacking midfielders/wingers and a striker. E.g. against Palace it was Toure sitting and then Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane with Jesus upfront.

Van Gaal used the same system at the end of his first season which was the best we played under him. Silva would excel in such a system imo.

James is better at scoring goals for sure. I don't think he's better at much else, but then again it is goals we are missing.

Not hard to guess why that might be; his agent/Monaco driving up the fee/wages on offer from City with the threat of losing him to their cross-town rivals.
I'll be genuinely gutted if we miss out on this one to City and I haven't felt like that about their singings since Silva and Augero went there.
