DUFFEN CONCEDES DEFEAT IN CAMPBELL CAPTURE! It's been one of the most nerve-wracking transfer windows - not only in Hull City's history - but arguably ever. But Fraizer Campbell will NOT be arriving at Hull City...
...he is heading for Spurs! Fraizer Campbell will NOT arrive at Hull City for a record breaking £7m transfer from Manchester United, to team up with Phil Brown at the KC Stadium according City chairman Paul Duffen who appears to have accepted the England U21 star will become part of the Berbatov deal.
So much water has passed under the bridge since Campbell's mesmeric loan spell at the club catapulted the Tigers to a Wembley play-off final and ultimately Premier League status last season.
At first, the Tigers attempted to bring Campbell in to the club during the summer, then an agreement was struck that Hull City would be given first option to loan the player by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to take the player for the enitre season.
However, as Manchester United entered sticky negotiations with Spurs for Dimitar Berbatov - and those talks became strained - Phil Brown landed a £7m offer for Campbell at the Old Trafford door.
Now, with United finally sealing the Dimitar Berbatov transfer, Fraizer Campbell has sealed his move to Tottenham as part of the deal. But the upshot of it all is - incredibly - Fraizer Campbell is now officially going to join Tottenham Hotspur NOT Hull City.
