Weird it's only 7 38 on friday here, maybe Berbatov is warping the time continuium where is Doc Brown when you need him

Why aren't you out on the town on a lovely Friday evening?

Too far from the action to be able to drive home and dont want to pay 50 for a cabthat said Iwas at the beach this morning htat was nice

We have Hurricane Gustav to the South of us and Huricane Hannah to the West of us, bearing down on us.
My thoughts are with Hurricane Berb

Bets of luck with Hannah mate. We are getting Gustav at the moment. Fortunately it has taken a swing to the North-West so we are only getting tropical storm winds. Cayman Brac and Little Cayman might not be so lucky.

Cayman :(

I lived there for a couple of years (from the age of like 2-4, so I have no memory)

Apparently was a lovely place, very very relaxed. Now its getting busier and not as nice.

Gustav's gonna kick the shit out of someone on the Gulf Coast. Could be a 4 or 5 when it gets up there.
Hannah's getting set to wobble so its anyone's guess. My island is in the centre of hurricane alley so we're quite used to it.

Anyhow, hurricane's are secondary to the berb raga. One eye on the hurricane and one on this thread. That's me taken up for the next few days.

It's pretty good. It is busier than it was. I've been here 16 years and it has definitely become more developed. I don't know about not as nice. I travel throughout the Caribbean with work and this place is definitely the most comfortable place to park your arse. Low crime, good infrastructure, stable government, no unemployment.

I wouldn't want to be on the Gulf Coast early next week. Like you say someone is going to cop it. I know its no consolation but at least most places on the Gulf Coast can deal with it better than Haiti or Jamaica, better housing, more shelters equals fewer casulaties. This is the wrong thread for a discussion on hurricanes. But I'm in the Bahamas twice a year on business and am due to visit over the next month or two. It's a shame you are not in Nassau. It would be nice to meet up with a friendly face for a couple of Kaliks instead of sitting in the Hilton on my todd bored out of my tree. Anyway, I hope Hanna gives you guys a miss.

the telegraph.... first they suggest Pavlyuchenko was coming to white hart lane on a £16 million deal
Tottenham have already lined up his replacement, with Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko spotted at Heathrow airport as he neared a £16 million move to north London.
, then:
After Zenit beat Manchester United in the Super Cup last night, their manager Dick Advocaat told reporters: “The door is closed, the deal is closed. Tottenham did not offer the £22 million we wanted for him and what we think he is worth.

“They offered £16 million and, with respect, that is not enough so that’s the end of it.”
:wenger:

I've forgotten about today's game already. Read one report. Don't want to read any more. Turned off the tv after the game. Loved the socks off Tevez though. Scholes did the funniest thing I've ever seen a United player do. Pretty well summed up all our feelings on that trophy.
I'm gonna stay hugged into the Berb thread cos I don't want to discuss that game.

GOT HIM ..AT LAST

By Alan Nixon 30/08/2008

EXCLUSIVE Berba on way to Utd

Dimitar Berbatov's dream move to Manchester United should finally go through today for £28million.

Spurs had reported United for the way they attempted to lure the Bulgaria striker from White Hart Lane and the Premier League champions have at last agreed a fee of £25m plus a further £3million "adjustment" as compensation over the tapping-up claim.

Berbatov, the subject of a late bid by Bayern Munich, has been cleared to sort out terms with United before Tottenham take on Chelsea tomorrow.

Spurs are now resigned to losing Berbatov as they close in on deals for Roman Pavlyuchenko and Andrei Arshavin after weeks of haggling on those fronts.
